This guide walks you through creating, editing, and managing teams in the Tournament Management App.

Prerequisites

Before creating teams, you must have:

Create Municipios (Municipalities)

Teams require an associated municipality. Navigate to Municipios > Create to add municipalities first.

Create Directores Técnicos (Technical Directors)

Each team needs a technical director. Go to DTs > Create to add technical directors.

Log in to your account

Team creation and editing require authentication. Make sure you’re logged in.
The application will automatically prompt you to create these prerequisite entities if they don’t exist when you try to create a team.

Creating a New Team

Navigate to the Teams page

From the main navigation menu, select Equipos (Teams) to view the list of existing teams.

Click 'Crear equipos'

Click the Crear equipos (Create teams) button at the top of the page.

Enter team details

Fill in the team information:
  • Nombre del Equipo (Team Name): Enter the team name
  • Municipio (Municipality): Select from the dropdown
  • D.T. (Technical Director): Select from the dropdown

Submit the form

Click Crear equipo (Create team) to save the team.

Team Name Validation Rules

The team name must meet the following requirements:
  • Required: Cannot be empty
  • Minimum length: 3 characters
  • Maximum length: 50 characters
  • Format: Only letters (including accented characters) and numbers are allowed
  • Pattern: Cannot contain only numbers

Duplicate team names are not allowed. If you try to create a team with a name that already exists, you’ll receive an error message.

Viewing Teams

The teams list page provides several features:

Filter by Municipality

  1. Use the Filtrar equipos por municipio dropdown at the top of the page
  2. Select a municipality or choose Ver todos to see all teams
  3. Click Filtrar to apply the filter

Search by Name

  1. Use the search box under Busqueda de equipos
  2. Enter the team name (supports partial matches)
  3. Click Buscar to search
The search accepts alphanumeric characters with a maximum length of 30 characters.

Team Information Displayed

For each team, you can view:
  • Id: Unique team identifier
  • Nombre del Equipo: Team name
  • Municipio: Associated municipality
  • Director Técnico: Assigned technical director
  • Acciones: Available actions (Detail, Edit, Delete)

Editing a Team

Locate the team

Find the team you want to edit in the teams list.

Click 'Editar'

Click the Editar (Edit) button for that team.
This button is only available when you’re logged in.

Update team details

Modify any of the following:
  • Team name
  • Municipality
  • Technical director
The team ID is read-only and cannot be changed.

Save changes

Click Editar equipo (Edit team) to save your changes.
The same validation rules apply when editing. You cannot change a team name to one that already exists in the system.

Deleting a Team

Teams can only be deleted under specific conditions:

Deletion Requirements

The team must have zero players associated with it. Remove all players before attempting to delete the team.
The team cannot have any matches where it appears as the home team (Local).
The team cannot have any matches where it appears as the away team (Visitante).
You must be logged in to delete teams.

Verify deletion conditions

Ensure the team meets all deletion requirements listed above. The Eliminar button will be disabled if conditions aren’t met.

Click 'Eliminar'

Click the Eliminar (Delete) button for the team.

Confirm deletion

Confirm the action when prompted with “Esta seguro de eliminar el equipo?” (Are you sure you want to delete the team?).
If you see a disabled Eliminar button (outlined in red), it means the team has associated players or matches and cannot be deleted. Remove these associations first.

Viewing Team Details

To view complete team information:
  1. Click the Detalle (Detail) button for any team
  2. This displays all team information including related players and matches
  3. This feature is available to all users (no login required)

Troubleshooting

Choose a different team name. Each team must have a unique name.
The application will show specific alerts:
  • Missing Municipios: Click “Crear Municipios” to create municipalities first
  • Missing Technical Directors: Click “Crear Directores Tecnicos” to add directors
  • Missing both: Create both entities before proceeding
These actions require authentication. Log in to your account to enable these features.
The team has associated players or matches. You must:
  1. Remove or reassign all players from this team
  2. Delete or modify matches where this team participates
  3. Then try deleting again
