NRG Sentinel includes a built-in 14-day trial. No license key is required to start — install the package and all features are immediately available.

How the trial works

The 14-day period is counted from the first time Sentinel initialises in a given Node-RED instance. The clock starts on first startup and runs regardless of how frequently the instance is used. During the trial, every feature is fully available with no restrictions.

After the trial expires

Threat blocking continues after the trial expires. Sentinel does not turn off — it keeps intercepting and blocking attacks as normal. Only certain management features require a license key once the trial period ends.
After expiry:
  • Sentinel remains active and continues blocking threats
  • Certain management features — such as the Permissions UI — require a valid license key to use

Obtaining a license

To continue using management features after the trial, configure a license key in settings.js or via the NRG_SENTINEL_LICENSE environment variable. See Configuring a license key for instructions.
