Launcher won’t start or shows white screen
Symptoms: Launcher doesn’t open, shows a blank white screen, or becomes invisible on startup. Solutions:Clear launcher cache

- Navigate to
%appdata%\ArmchairDevelopers\Kyber - Delete the cache folders
- Restart the launcher
The launcher clears the Nexus Mods cache between versions automatically to prevent issues with outdated cache.

- Ensure you’re running Windows 7 or later
- Windows 10/11 is recommended for best performance
- Windows 7 Compatibility Mode is no longer needed as of beta5

- Close the launcher again
- Restart
”PanicException” error when starting game
Symptoms: Error message about “PanicException” when trying to launch the game. Solution: This issue was fixed in version 2.0.0-beta3. Make sure you’re running the latest version of Kyber.Installer gets stuck at “Updating Module”
Symptoms: The installation process freezes at the module update stage. Solutions:- Close the launcher completely
- Check your antivirus - add Kyber to exclusions
- Verify you have administrator permissions
- Delete
C:\ProgramData\Kyber\Moduleand reinstall - Restart the launcher
This issue was addressed in version 2.0.0-beta7.
Authentication & Login Issues
Nexus Mods login loads indefinitely
Symptoms: Nexus Mods authentication window spins forever or doesn’t complete. Solutions:Clear browser cache

The launcher now uses a new API for Nexus Mods authentication (as of alpha7):
- Close the launcher
- Clear the cache in
%appdata%\ArmchairDevelopers\Kyber - Restart and try logging in again

- Use the in-launcher account creation flow
- An issue preventing new account creation was fixed in beta6
- Make sure you’re on the latest version

- You can log in through their website
HandshakeException when joining servers or downloading mods
Symptoms: Connection errors with “HandshakeException” message. Solution: This was a certificate issue fixed in version 2.0.0-beta2. Update to the latest version.Patreon linking fails
Symptoms: Unable to link Patreon account or whitelist doesn’t activate. Solutions:- Use the Settings page to unlink and relink your account
- Make sure you’re logged in to Patreon in your browser
- Patreon supporters should have Discord linked automatically after login
- Contact support on Discord if the issue persists
A potential fix for Patreon linking issues was implemented in beta5.
Connection & Server Issues
Cannot join servers or launcher turns grey
Symptoms: Launcher becomes unresponsive or grey when attempting to join a server. Solutions:Check required mods

- Ensure you have disk space for automatic mod downloads
- Wait for required gameplay mods to download
- Verify you can download mods when the server is full

- Try the Auto setting (added in beta2)
- If that fails, manually select a different proxy
- Check your firewall isn’t blocking connections
Proxies are now pinged multiple times for more accurate ping values (beta7).

- An issue allowing players to join full servers was fixed in beta8
- Server groups now show correct instance availability
- Try selecting a different instance in the join dialog
High ping to servers
Symptoms: Experiencing lag or high latency when connected to servers. Solutions:- Use the Auto proxy setting to find the best proxy
- Check the region icons in the server browser
- Select servers closer to your geographic location
- Verify your internet connection is stable
- Close bandwidth-heavy applications
Proxy reconnection issues
Symptoms: Disconnects during gameplay or “connection lost” errors. Solution: The proxy reconnection bug was fixed in beta5. Packets sent while reconnecting are now handled correctly, preventing engine disconnections.”Request Range Not Satisfiable” download errors
Symptoms: Downloads fail with “Request Range Not Satisfiable” error. Solution: Fixed in beta6. The download manager was overhauled. Make sure you’re on the latest version.Mod & Content Issues
Mods won’t download or install
Symptoms: Automatic mod downloads fail or don’t start. Solutions:Check Nexus Mods login

- Don’t use special characters or emojis in the path

- You can now pause, resume, and cancel downloads
- Progress is saved and restored on restart
- Extraction progress is shown for .zip and .rar files
- Report issues to Discord if problems persist

As of beta8, Kyber uses a new CDN:
- Should improve download speeds
- Reduces download failures
- If you experience issues, report them on Discord
Mods don’t appear in collection or game
Symptoms: Installed mods aren’t showing up or loading. Solutions:- Check if mods are in the correct category (gameplay vs cosmetic)
- Verify the collection is properly saved (press Enter to save)
- Refresh the mods list (filesystem changes should auto-detect)
- Files in “MISCELLANEOUS FILES” category now display correctly (beta7+)
- Ensure you’re not exceeding the 247 mod limit
Wrong files loaded when using mod collection
Symptoms: Collection loads incorrect mods or duplicates. Solution: This issue was fixed in beta5:- Make sure collections are properly saved
- Delete and recreate problematic collections
- Verify each mod’s category (Map category is now gameplay)
Cannot extract .rar or .7z mods
Symptoms: Extraction fails for certain archive types. Solutions:- Ensure you’re on version alpha7 or later (added .rar/.7z support)
- For .7z files: extraction works but progress isn’t shown
- For .rar files: should show extraction progress
- Re-download if the archive is corrupted
Game Launch Issues
Game crashes on startup or when changing maps
Symptoms: Game crashes, especially during map transitions. Solutions:Check for mod conflicts

- Use separate collections for different setups
- Verify mods are compatible with current game version

Check module injection

An issue preventing proper KYBER injection was fixed in alpha2:
- Verify module path is
C:\ProgramData\Kyber\Module - Check antivirus isn’t blocking injection
- Run launcher as administrator if needed
”The title is installed in a language you are not entitled to play”
Symptoms: Error message about language entitlement. Solution: Fixed in beta9 by moving the Module path toC:\ProgramData\Kyber\Module to prevent issues with non-ASCII characters in user profile paths.
Game settings reset after every launch
Symptoms: Battlefront 2 settings don’t persist between sessions. Solution: Cloud Sync was fixed in beta6. Your settings should now persist correctly.Expired EA session warning
Symptoms: Warning dialog about expired EA session when starting game. Solution:- Log out of Kyber launcher
- Log back in with your EA account
- This re-authenticates your session
- The warning was added in beta9 to prevent issues
Stats & Progression Issues
Stats not updating on official servers
Symptoms: Statistics don’t save or update after matches. Solutions:- This was fixed in beta9 and beta7
- Update to the latest version
- If stats page softlocks, restart the launcher
- Check your EA authentication is valid

Map rotation builder shows wrong maps
Symptoms: Incorrect maps displayed in the rotation builder. Solution: This was fixed in alpha9. Make sure you’re using the latest version and that custom mode/map mods implement the new format.Server browser shows same map for all instances
Symptoms: All instances of a server group show identical map in browser. Solution: Fixed in beta9. Server instances now correctly display their individual current maps.Voice Chat Issues
Proximity voice chat not working
Symptoms: Cannot hear others or be heard in proximity chat. Solutions:- Check voice chat is enabled in Settings
- Verify correct input/output devices are selected
- Test push-to-talk keybind (if enabled)
- Check Windows microphone permissions
- Ensure game volume isn’t muted
Proximity voice chat was fixed in beta7 and enhanced with in-game icons.
Cannot change audio devices
Symptoms: Unable to switch voice chat devices without being in-game. Solution: As of beta7, you can switch input/output devices for proximity voice chat directly in Settings without needing to be in-game.Performance Issues
Launcher is slow or unresponsive
Symptoms: Launcher lags, freezes, or responds slowly. Solutions:- Close unnecessary background applications
- Clear launcher cache in
%appdata%\ArmchairDevelopers\Kyber - Reduce number of active mods (under 247 recommended)
- Performance improvements were made in alpha7
- Memory leak in Module was fixed in beta5
Slow mod browser or search
Symptoms: Mod browser is sluggish or search takes too long. Solutions:- Mod browser was overhauled in alpha4 and alpha7
- Nexus Mods search improvements in beta4
- Set custom items per page value in settings
- Clear mod browser cache (stored in system temp folder)
