Medal System

Medals are awarded based on leaderboard position:

Medal Values by Rank

  • Rank #1 - 10 medals (Gold, first place)
  • Rank #2 - 8 medals (Silver, second place)
  • Rank #3 - 6 medals (Bronze, third place)
  • Rank #4 - 5 medals
  • Rank #5 - 4 medals
  • Rank #6 - 3 medals
  • Rank #7 - 2 medals
  • Rank #8 - 1 medal
  • Rank #9 - 1 medal
  • Rank #10 - 1 medal
Medals are only awarded for ranked maps. Unranked maps do not contribute to medal counts.

Medal Calculation

Your total medal count is calculated by:
  1. Finding your highest position on each ranked leaderboard
  2. Awarding medals based on the position (using the table above)
  3. Summing all medals across all maps
  4. Updating in real-time as you set new scores or other players beat your scores
Unlike PP, medals don’t use a weighted curve. Every top-10 position contributes fully to your medal total, regardless of map difficulty.

Medal Breakdown

Total Medals

Sum of all medals earned across all maps

#1 Positions

Number of first-place finishes (10 medals each)

Top 10 Count

Total number of top-10 placements

Medals by Position

See distribution:
  • How many #1, #2, #3, etc. positions
  • Total medals from each position tier
  • Percentage of medals from top 3 vs 4-10
  • Competitive strength indicator

Medals by Star Rating

Analyze medal sources:
  • Medals earned from easy maps (1-3 stars)
  • Medals from intermediate maps (3-6 stars)
  • Medals from hard maps (6-9 stars)
  • Medals from extreme maps (9+ stars)
Most players earn the majority of their medals in the 3-7 star range where competition is balanced with achievability.

Medal Hunting

Strategies to increase your medal count:

Finding Medal Opportunities

  • Search for low-play-count maps where top 10 is achievable
  • Filter maps by star range matching your skill level
  • Focus on newly ranked maps before competition intensifies
  • Check maps in your top PP range (you already excel at that difficulty)
  • Monitor your medal scores for players approaching your position
  • Set up alerts (future feature) when you drop out of top 10
  • Revisit maps where you hold #4-#10 to improve to top 3
  • Focus on maps with high medal values (#1-#3)
  • Create a playlist of maps where you’re ranked #11-#20
  • Sort by maps with the most medals at stake (aim for #1-#3)
  • Practice consistently on these maps
  • Replay when you’re performing at your peak
Medals favor breadth over depth. Setting 100 scores in the top 10 earns more medals than perfecting 10 scores to #1.

Medal vs PP Rankings

Understanding the differences:

PP Rankings

  • Weighted System - Top scores count most, weighted curve
  • Difficulty Focus - Higher star maps give more PP
  • Accuracy Sensitive - Small accuracy differences = large PP gaps
  • Top-Heavy - Your best 50-100 scores determine PP

Medal Rankings

  • Unweighted System - All top-10 scores count equally
  • Consistency Focus - Rewards breadth across many maps
  • Position-Based - Rank on leaderboard matters more than score/accuracy
  • Inclusive - Easy and hard maps contribute equally
Focus on PP if:
  • You want to be highly ranked in the global leaderboards
  • You enjoy pushing yourself on challenging maps
  • You prefer depth over breadth
  • Accuracy optimization is your strength
Focus on Medals if:
  • You enjoy competitive leaderboard battles
  • You prefer playing a wide variety of maps
  • You want an alternative to PP grinding
  • You like tracking incremental progress
Do Both:
  • Most players naturally earn medals while grinding PP
  • Medal hunting is a great secondary goal
  • Diversifies your skill development

Tips for Medal Ranking

  • Focus on maps with fewer than 1000 plays for easier top 10
  • Target the 4-6 star range where competition is moderate
  • Play newly ranked maps early before competition intensifies
  • Use medal scores view to identify vulnerable positions to defend
  • Set a daily medal goal (e.g., earn 5-10 medals per day)
  • Create playlists of “almost top 10” maps (your rank #11-#20)
  • Diversify across all star ranges for maximum opportunities
  • Track your medal/day rate to monitor progress
  • Regularly check your medal scores for drops in rank
  • Focus on protecting high-value medals (#1-#3 positions)
  • Revisit maps where you’ve dropped from #10 to #11-#15
  • Stay active - inactive periods lead to medal losses
