Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Maestro commercially?

Yes! Maestro is licensed under AGPL-3.0, which allows commercial use. See the LICENSE for details.

Is my data private?

Yes. Maestro runs entirely on your local machine. Conversations, files, and configuration are stored locally. The only data sent externally is:
  • AI prompts to your chosen provider (Claude, Codex, etc.)
  • Optional crash reports via Sentry (can be disabled in Settings)
  • Optional leaderboard stats (requires explicit opt-in)

Which AI providers are supported?

Currently:
  • Claude Code (Anthropic)
  • OpenAI Codex
  • OpenCode
  • Factory Droid

Can I run Maestro on a server?

Yes! Use the CLI tool (maestro-cli) for headless operation. See CLI Documentation.

Does Maestro work offline?

The Maestro UI works offline, but AI agents require internet access to communicate with their respective providers.

How do I update Maestro?

Enable auto-updates in Settings → General → Updates. Or download the latest release from GitHub Releases.
