Overview
This guide will walk you through accessing the platform, creating an account, and completing your first forum activity.If you’re a professor, use the admin account (
[email protected]) to access the professor panel instead.Getting Started
Access the Platform
Navigate to the platform URL provided by your instructor. You’ll see the login page with two panels:
- Left panel: Decorative welcome screen with “Portal de Derivadas”
- Right panel: Login/registration form
Create Your Account
If you don’t have an account yet:
- Click “Regístrate aquí” (Register here) at the bottom of the form
- Fill in your information:
- Nombre (First name)
- Apellidos (Last name)
- Correo Electrónico (Email address)
- Contraseña (Password)
- Click the “Registrarse” button
- Wait for the confirmation message: “Cuenta creada, Ahora inicia sesión”
Your email will be used as your unique identifier throughout the platform.
Log In
Once registered (or if you already have an account):
- Enter your email and password
- Click “Entrar” (Enter)
- You’ll see a success message and be redirected automatically
View the Welcome Screen
After logging in for the first time, you’ll see a welcome message:
- Personalized greeting with your first name
- Explanation of the platform’s purpose: understanding derivatives through bone density analysis
- The relationship between age and bone mineral density (BMD)
On subsequent logins, you’ll skip this welcome screen and go directly to Forum 1.
Navigate to Forum 1
After clicking “Comenzar”, you’ll be taken to Forum 1: La densidad mineral ósea (Bone Mineral Density).The sidebar on the left shows all available activities:
- Foro 1 through Foro 6
- Examen 1 and Examen 2
- Panel de Alumno (Student Panel)
Review the Educational Material
Before answering questions, review the provided material:
- Click “Mostrar Material” to reveal:
- Graph showing bone density vs. age
- Explanation of what BMD is (mg/cm²)
- Information about bone composition (collagen, calcium phosphate)
- Details about DEXA/DEX testing
The material explains that bone density increases from birth to adulthood, then begins declining after age 35.
Complete Forum 1 Questions
Forum 1 contains 6 questions about bone mineral density:
- Question 1: Explain what BMD is and how it’s measured
- Question 2: What factors influence good bone health?
- Question 3: Are age and BMD related?
- Question 4: How does BMD evolve throughout life?
- Question 5: Can you determine age from BMD and vice versa?
- Question 6: Is BMD the same for male and female skeletons?
Submit Your Responses
When you’re ready:
- Click the “Enviar Respuestas” (Submit Responses) button at the bottom
- You’ll see “Guardando…” (Saving…) while your responses are sent to the server
- Once saved, you’ll see a success confirmation
View Peer Responses
After submitting, the form transforms into a discussion view showing:
- All classmates’ responses with their names and submission times
- Avatar circles with initials
- Expandable details to read full responses
- A green “Actividad Completada” (Activity Completed) banner
Continue to Next Forum
Use the sidebar to navigate to the next forum:
- Click “Foro 2” in the left sidebar
- Repeat the process: review material, answer questions, submit
- Continue through all 6 forums and 2 exams
Your professor can provide feedback on your submissions through the Panel de Alumno (Student Panel).

Student Panel
Access your personal dashboard by clicking “Panel de Alumno” in the sidebar:- View your progress across all forums and exams
- See feedback from your professor on specific activities
- Track which activities you’ve completed
Visual Learning (Forum 5)
Forum 5 includes special features for visual analysis:- Upload sketch images for question 3
- Upload up to 3 images for the data table
- View peers’ uploaded images after submission
Responsive Design
The platform works on all devices:- Desktop: Full sidebar navigation always visible
- Mobile: Collapsed menu for compact screens
- Dark mode support for comfortable viewing

Contact your professor or system administrator to reset your password.
Technical Issues?
If you encounter errors, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in.
