Create your website

Follow these steps to go from resume to live website in minutes.

Sign up for an account

Visit wrkks.site and click the Sign Up button in the navigation bar. Wrkks uses Clerk for authentication, so you can sign up with:
  • Email and password
  • Google account
  • GitHub account
After signing up, you’ll be automatically signed in and redirected to the upload page.
Your account username will be used in your website URL: wrkks.site/username. You can customize this later.

Upload your resume or LinkedIn PDF

On the upload page, you’ll see a drag-and-drop area with the message:
Upload a PDF of your LinkedIn or your resume and generate your personal site
To prepare your LinkedIn PDF:
  1. Go to your LinkedIn profile
  2. Click More in your profile section
  3. Select Save to PDF from the dropdown
  4. Download the PDF to your computer
Upload your file:
  • Drag and drop your PDF onto the upload area, or
  • Click the upload area to browse and select your file
Files must be in PDF format and under 5MB in size. The system will validate your file before processing.
Once selected, you’ll see your file name displayed with a paperclip icon. If you need to change files, click the X icon to remove it and upload a different one.

Generate your website

After uploading your PDF, click the Generate Site button with the sparkles icon.The system will:
  1. Parse your PDF using our AI-powered parser
  2. Extract your professional information (experience, skills, achievements)
  3. Structure the data into a web-optimized format
  4. Generate your personal website
You’ll see an “Generating site…” animation while processing. This typically takes 10-30 seconds depending on your resume length.
The parser works best with standard resume formats and LinkedIn PDFs. If you have a highly customized resume layout, the AI will still extract the information but may require minor edits.

Preview and customize

After generation, you’ll be redirected to the website preview page at /website. Here you can:Choose your website style:
  • Click the Website Style dropdown to select between:
    • Simple Style - Clean, traditional resume layout
    • Bento Style - Modern card-based design
Switch between modes:
  • Preview - See your website exactly as visitors will see it
  • Edit - Modify your content directly with the visual editor
Click the Preview or Edit buttons to switch between modes. Changes are saved automatically.Customize your username:At the top of the page, you’ll see your website URL:
wrkks.site / your-username
Click the edit icon next to your username to change it. Your username must be unique across all Wrkks sites.

Publish your website

When you’re satisfied with your website, it’s time to make it live.
  1. Click the Publish button in the top-right section
  2. The button will show “Publishing…” while deploying
  3. Once published, the button changes to Visit Site
Your website is now live at wrkks.site/your-username!Publishing status:
  • You’ll see a status indicator showing whether your site is Live or Draft
  • Published sites are immediately accessible to anyone with the link
Unpublishing:
  • If you need to take your site down temporarily, click the Unpublish button
  • This removes your site from public access while keeping all your data saved
After publishing, you can click Visit Site to open your live website in a new tab and share the link with potential employers, clients, or your network.

Common questions

Yes! You can upload a new resume at any time from the /upload page. The new resume will replace your existing content, but you’ll need to publish again to update your live site.
On the /website page, click the edit icon next to your username in the URL bar. Enter your new username and save. Make sure to choose something professional that represents your personal brand.
PDFs must be under 5MB in size. This ensures fast processing and optimal performance. Most resume PDFs are well under this limit.
Absolutely! Click the Edit button on the website preview page to open the visual editor. You can modify any text, add new sections, or restructure your content.
Yes. Wrkks uses Clerk for authentication and Supabase for secure data storage. Your resume data is only accessible to you when signed in, and published sites only show the information you choose to make public.
