Common Error Messages

”Error al parsear número: [Error details]”

Cause: The number format cannot be parsed by the phonenumbers library. Common reasons:
  • Missing country code
  • Invalid characters (letters, special symbols)
  • Incomplete number
  • Wrong country code for the number format
Solutions:
# ❌ Wrong
6502530000 # Missing country code
+1-650-TWO-FIVE-THREE # Contains letters
+1 650 # Incomplete

# ✓ Correct
+1 650 253 0000 # Complete with country code
+16502530000 # Compact format

“Opción inválida”

Cause: You entered something other than 1 or 2 when choosing input format. Solution: Enter exactly 1 or 2 when prompted.

Number Not Valid But Possible

What it means: The number format is technically correct for the country, but the specific number may not be assigned or in service. Example scenario:
[✗] Número no válido
[✓] Número posible
This can happen with:
  • Disconnected numbers
  • Numbers in reserved ranges
  • Recently unassigned numbers
  • Test numbers

Best Practices

Input Recommendations:
  1. Always include country code: Even for local numbers, include the country code for accurate analysis
  2. Use Option 1 for known numbers: Faster when you have the complete number
  3. Use Option 2 for manual entry: Reduces errors when typing long numbers
  4. Remove formatting: The tool handles it, but clean input reduces parsing errors
Interpreting Carrier Data:
  • Carrier information is not always available
  • Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) may show parent carrier
  • Ported numbers may show old carrier data
  • VoIP numbers often show “Unknown” carrier
Privacy and Ethics:
  • This tool uses public phone number databases
  • No personal information about phone owners is revealed
  • Carrier and location data is public routing information
  • Use responsibly and respect privacy laws
Limitations:
  • Carrier data is not available for all countries
  • Some countries don’t distinguish between mobile and landline
  • Location is based on area code, not actual device location
  • Number portability may affect accuracy
