Welcome to Web A11y for Developers

Hey there! I’m Daniel and I’m so happy you joined this course! I am a Senior Web Developer and Course Instructor at TestDevLab, working with technologies like React, Vue and Angular, all the way to plain old HTML/CSS/JS. Web Accessibility is a crucial part of what we do as Web Developers, so I invite you to join me in discovering all of its quirks and techniques needed to make a Web page accessible.

What is Web Accessibility?

Web Accessibility (often abbreviated as A11y) ensures that websites and web applications are usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This includes:
  • Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
  • Hearing impairments
  • Motor disabilities
  • Cognitive disabilities
Accessible websites benefit not just users with disabilities, but all users by improving usability, SEO, and overall user experience.
Web accessibility is not just a nice-to-have feature - it’s a fundamental aspect of building inclusive web experiences that work for everyone.
