LarpLand includes a comprehensive review system that lets customers share their experiences and rate products.

Viewing Product Reviews

Product reviews are accessible from the product detail page:

Review Card Display

Each review is shown in a card with:

• User avatar: Circular badge with the reviewer’s first initial
• User name: The reviewer’s display name
• Review date: When the review was posted (formatted for readability)
• Star rating: Visual rating out of 5 stars (filled stars indicate the rating)
• Review comment: The full text of the customer’s review

Review Sorting

Reviews are displayed in reverse chronological order:

• Newest reviews appear first
• Older reviews appear below
• This ensures you see the most recent customer feedback

Date Formatting

Review dates are displayed in a user-friendly format:

• Today: “Hoy, HH:MM” (e.g., “Hoy, 14:30”)
• Yesterday: “Ayer, HH:MM” (e.g., “Ayer, 09:15”)
• Within a week: “Hace X dias” (e.g., “Hace 3 dias”)
• Older: DD/MM/YYYY format (e.g., “15/02/2026”)

Empty Review State

If a product has no reviews yet:

• A message displays: “Todavia no hay resenas para este producto.”
• You can be the first to review the product

Writing a Review

To submit a review for a product:

Review Form Fields

The review form includes:

• Comment field (required): Share your thoughts about the product
• Rating dropdown (required): Select from 1 to 5 stars
• Submit button: Sends your review with a confirmation message

Rating Scale

Use the following rating guidelines:

• 5 stars: Excellent, exceeded expectations
• 4 stars: Very good, met expectations
• 3 stars: Average, acceptable quality
• 2 stars: Below average, some issues
• 1 star: Poor, significant problems

Review Validation

The review system enforces several rules:

Required Fields

• Comment: You must enter text in the comment field
• Empty or whitespace-only comments are rejected
• An error message prompts: “Por favor, introduce un comentario”

Submission Process

When you submit a review:

Processing Indicator

While submitting your review:

• The submit button shows a loading spinner
• Button text changes to “Enviando…”
• The button is disabled to prevent duplicate submissions

Product Rating Updates

When you submit a review:

1. Immediate calculation: The system calculates the new average rating
2. Automatic update: The product’s overall rating updates in real-time
3. Visible changes: The rating displayed on the product detail page refreshes
4. Catalog sync: The updated rating appears in the product catalog

Rating Calculation

Product ratings are calculated as:

• Sum of all review ratings ÷ number of reviews
• Displayed to one decimal place (e.g., “4.3”)
• Shown as “X / 5” format

Review Display Components

User Avatar

Review cards include a personalized avatar:

• Circular design with parchment background color (#F3EBD4)
• Displays the first letter of the reviewer’s name
• Dark green text color (#2C4432)
• Fallback to ”?” if the username is empty

Star Rating Visualization

Ratings are displayed as:

• Filled stars (★) for the rating value
• Outlined stars (☆) for remaining stars up to 5
• Amber color for high visibility
• 18px size for readability

Error Handling

Review Loading Errors

If reviews fail to load:

• An error message displays with details
• The review form remains available
• You can still submit a review even if existing reviews won’t load

Submission Errors

If your review fails to submit:

1. An error snackbar appears with details
2. Your comment text is preserved in the form
3. The submit button re-enables so you can retry
4. Check your internet connection and try again

Review Guidelines

For helpful, high-quality reviews:

• Be specific: Mention what you liked or disliked
• Be honest: Share your genuine experience
• Be respectful: Keep comments constructive
• Be relevant: Focus on the product itself

Review Lifecycle

Once you submit a review:

• It appears immediately in the reviews section
• Other users can see your review when viewing the product
• The product’s average rating updates to reflect your input
• Your review remains associated with your user account

Editing or Deleting

• Review products after you’ve had time to use them
• Provide context about your experience
• Mention how the product meets (or doesn’t meet) its description
• Rate honestly to help other roleplayers make informed choices
