Spaced Repetition Strategy

Maximize retention with spaced repetition:
1

Study flashcard set for the first time. Mark known vs. unknown.
2

Immediate Review (Same Day)

Re-study the set 2-4 hours later, focusing on cards you marked “Don’t Know”.
3

Next Day Review

Study the same set again 24 hours later to reinforce memory.
4

Weekly Review

Review once more after 7 days to ensure long-term retention.
Recommended Schedule:
SessionTimingFocus

Advanced Study Techniques

Active Recall

Try to answer out loud before flipping the card.
  1. Read the question
  2. Say your answer aloud
  3. Flip to check
  4. Mark honestly (Know/Don’t Know)

Focus on Weak Areas

  1. First Pass: Study all cards, mark Know/Don’t Know
  2. Note Unknown Cards: Pay attention to which topics you struggle with
  3. Second Pass: Immediately re-study the set
  4. Focus on Reds: Spend extra time on cards you marked “Don’t Know”
  5. Targeted Practice: Generate new flashcards on weak topics

Chunking Strategy

For large topics, break into smaller flashcard sets:
Instead of:
"World War II" - 20 cards

Create:
"WW2: Causes" - 5 cards
"WW2: Major Battles" - 5 cards
"WW2: Key Figures" - 5 cards
"WW2: Outcomes" - 5 cards

Card Quality Tips

What Makes Good Flashcards

Good Flashcards:
  • One concept per card
  • Clear, specific questions
  • Concise answers
  • Use keywords and definitions
Poor Flashcards:
  • Multiple concepts per card
  • Vague questions
  • Long, paragraph answers
  • Too easy or too hard

AI-Generated Card Quality

Our AI generates high-quality cards by:
  • Extracting key concepts from content
  • Creating clear question-answer pairs
  • Focusing on important terms and definitions
  • Balancing difficulty levels
If you notice low-quality cards, report them using the bug report feature (available in quiz interface).

Flashcard Statistics

Track your flashcard performance:
  • Sets Completed: Total flashcard sets finished
  • Average Score: Performance across all sets
  • Total Cards Studied: Lifetime card count
  • XP from Flashcards: Experience points earned
View stats: Dashboard → Stats → Flashcard Performance

Troubleshooting

Flashcards won’t generate:
  • Ensure topic/content is entered
  • Check internet connection
  • Wait full 10 seconds
  • Try shorter content input
  • Retry generation
Policy Violation:
  • Use educational topics only
  • Avoid prohibited content
  • Revise input and try again

Best Practices

Do:
  • Study 10-15 cards per session
  • Use spaced repetition (study multiple times)
  • Mark cards honestly (Know vs. Don’t Know)
  • Focus on understanding, not memorization
  • Create multiple smaller sets for big topics
  • Review cards you got wrong
Don’t:
  • Rush through cards without thinking
  • Mark “Know” if you’re unsure
  • Study 20 cards in one sitting (too many)
  • Skip reviewing the back of cards
  • Give up after one study session
