Automatically track your viewing progress and resume where you left off:

Progress Tracking

  • Automatic saving - Progress saved every few seconds during playback
  • Cross-device sync - Resume on any device when signed in
  • Per-episode tracking - Each TV episode maintains separate progress
  • Smart resume - Automatically detects when you’ve finished watching (90% threshold)
Progress is saved both locally and to the cloud, ensuring you never lose your place.

  • Displays progress bars for each item

Creating Lists

Navigate to Lists

Click “Lists” in the sidebar navigation.

Create New List

Click the “New List” button.

Name Your List

Enter a descriptive name like “Movies to Watch” or “Favorite Comedies”.

Start Adding Content

Browse and add movies or TV shows to your new list.

Adding Items to Lists

Add content to your lists in multiple ways: From Content Details:
  1. Click on any movie or TV show
  2. Click the “Add to List” button
  3. Select which list(s) to add it to
From Search Results:
  1. Search for content
  2. Click the menu icon on any result
  3. Select “Add to List”
While Watching:
  1. Open the player menu
  2. Click “Add to List”
  3. Choose your list

Managing Lists

Renaming Lists

Open Lists Page

Navigate to the Lists section.

Select List

Click on the list you want to rename.

Edit Name

Click the edit icon next to the list name.

Save Changes

Enter the new name and press Enter or click the save button.

Reordering Lists

Change the order of your lists:
  1. Navigate to the Lists page
  2. Use the up/down arrows next to each list
  3. Lists reorder immediately
  4. Order is saved automatically
You can create multiple lists to organize content by genre, mood, priority, or any system that works for you.

Deleting Lists

Select List

Click on the list you want to delete.

Open List Options

Click the menu or delete button for the list.

Confirm Deletion

Confirm you want to delete the list and all its contents.
Deleting a list removes it from your library but doesn’t affect the actual content. You can always re-add items to new lists.

List Item Management

Removing Items

Open List

Navigate to the list containing the item.

Select Item

Click on the item you want to remove.

Remove

Click the “Remove from List” button.

Confirm

Confirm the removal when prompted.

Drag and Drop Reordering

Reorganize items within a list:
  1. Click and hold on an item
  2. Drag it to the desired position
  3. Release to drop in the new location
  4. Order saves automatically

List Playback

Play through list items sequentially:
  1. Open any list
  2. Click on an item to start playing
  3. Next items in the list will be suggested when current item finishes
  4. Continue through your entire list in order
List playback respects your custom ordering, playing items in the sequence you arranged.

Search and Discovery

Searching Content

Raffi provides powerful search across multiple sources: Search Sources:
  • Cinemeta - Large database of movies and TV shows
  • Addon Catalogs - Search through your configured addons
  • Combined Results - Merged results from all sources

Search Features

Enter Query

Type in the search box on the home screen.

Results appear in real-time, split into Movies and Series tabs.

Switch between tabs to focus on movies or TV shows.

Select Content

Click any result to view details and available streams.

Search Performance

  • Instant results from Cinemeta database
  • Addon search timeout - 1.8 seconds max per addon
  • Cached results - Recent searches cached for 60 seconds
  • Deduplication - Duplicate results automatically merged

Content Metadata

Each search result includes:
  • Title and Year
  • Poster image
  • IMDb ID
  • Content type (Movie or Series)
  • Release information
Discover trending content:
  • Popular Movies - Trending films
  • Popular Series - Trending TV shows
  • Automatically updated - Fresh recommendations daily
  1. Navigate to the home screen
  2. Scroll to “Popular Movies” or “Popular Series”
  3. Click any title to view details
  4. Add to lists or start watching immediately

Local Library

Manage locally stored video files:

Adding Local Files

  1. Click “Local Library” in the sidebar
  2. Click “Add Folder” or “Add Files”
  3. Browse to your video files
  4. Raffi scans and matches content to metadata

Metadata Matching

Raffi automatically identifies local files:
  • Extracts titles from filenames
  • Matches against online databases
  • Retrieves posters, descriptions, and cast information
  • Organizes by detected content
Use clear filenames with year information for best matching results (e.g., “Movie Title (2020).mp4”).

Episode Management

For TV series, Raffi provides comprehensive episode tracking:

Season Navigation

  • View all seasons for any series
  • Browse episodes within each season
  • See episode titles and descriptions
  • Check watched status at a glance

Episode Tracking

  • Per-episode progress - Track each episode individually
  • Watched indicators - Visual markers for completed episodes
  • Next episode suggestions - Automatic progression to next unwatched episode
  • Season completion - Track progress through entire seasons

Binge Watching Features

  1. Start any episode
  2. When it ends, next episode prompt appears
  3. Click to immediately start next episode
  4. Or wait for automatic progression (5-second countdown)

Catalog Browsing

Browse content from addon catalogs:
  1. Navigate to catalogs section
  2. Select an addon catalog
  3. Browse by genre, popularity, or other filters
  4. Click any item to view details

Metadata Caching

Raffi caches content metadata for performance:
  • Faster load times for previously viewed content
  • Reduced network requests
  • Offline access to cached data
  • Automatic cache invalidation for freshness

Multi-source Aggregation

Content information comes from multiple sources:
  • Cinemeta - Primary metadata source
  • Addon metadata - Additional information from addons
  • Fallback logic - Uses best available source for each field
For non-IMDb content IDs, Raffi prioritizes addon metadata over Cinemeta.

Best Practices

Organize with Lists

Create specific lists for different purposes: watchlist, favorites, genres, etc.

Regular Cleanup

Periodically remove completed content from lists to keep them manageable.

Search by title and year for more accurate results.
