When you tap on a quest card, you’ll see the quest details screen where you can learn more about the adventure and start your journey.

Quest Details Screen

The quest details screen provides everything you need to know before starting:

Visual Preview

If available, you’ll see a hero image at the top showing a preview of the quest location or theme.

Quest Information

Below the image, you’ll find detailed metadata:
  • Estimated time - How long the quest typically takes to complete
  • Category - The type of quest (history, nature, culture, etc.)
  • Difficulty level - How challenging the quest is
  • XP reward - Experience points you’ll earn
  • Description - A detailed overview of what the quest involves
Make sure you have enough time to complete the quest. The estimated time helps you plan your adventure!

Starting Your First Quest

When you’re ready to begin:

Review the quest details

Read through the description and check the estimated time to ensure you’re ready.

Tap 'Quest starten'

The “Quest starten” (Start Quest) button appears at the bottom of the screen.

Wait for confirmation

The button text changes to “Wird gestartet…” (Starting…) while the quest is being initialized.

Navigate to first location

Once started, you’re automatically taken to the first location in the quest.

Continuing an In-Progress Quest

If you’ve already started a quest but haven’t finished it:
  • The button changes to “Quest fortsetzen” (Continue Quest)
  • Tapping it takes you directly to your next incomplete location
  • You won’t lose any progress from previously completed locations
Quest Hunter automatically tracks your progress. You can safely exit and return to a quest anytime - just tap “Quest fortsetzen” to pick up where you left off.

What Happens When You Start

Behind the scenes, Quest Hunter:
  1. Creates a user quest record with your start time
  2. Links you to the quest’s location sequence
  3. Tracks your progress through each location
  4. Prevents you from starting the same quest twice

Quest Status Indicators

Back on the main Quests screen, you’ll see visual indicators:
  • Play circle icon - Quest is in progress
  • Chevron icon - Quest is available to start
  • Checkmark icon - Quest is completed (appears in Done tab)

Error Handling

If something goes wrong:
  • You’ll see an alert: “Quest konnte nicht gestartet werden. Bitte versuche es erneut.”
  • Simply try tapping the start button again
  • If the issue persists, check your internet connection
