Plausible Analytics is an easy-to-use, lightweight, open source, and privacy-friendly alternative to Google Analytics. It doesn’t use cookies and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. You can self-host Plausible Community Edition or have us manage Plausible Analytics for you in the cloud. We’re dedicated to making web analytics more privacy-friendly. Our mission is to reduce corporate surveillance by providing an alternative web analytics tool which doesn’t come from the AdTech world. We’re completely independent and solely funded by our subscribers.
Made and hosted in the EU - All visitor data is exclusively processed on EU-owned cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with strict European data privacy laws.

Cloud vs Self-Hosted

Plausible Cloud takes 2 minutes to set up with worldwide CDN, high availability, backups, security, and maintenance all handled for you. Revenue supports ongoing development.
Plausible Community Edition (CE) is free and self-hosted, giving you complete control over your data and infrastructure. However, you’re responsible for server management, updates, and maintenance. Key differences include:
  • Release Schedule - Cloud receives continuous updates multiple times per week; CE is a long-term release published twice yearly
  • Bot Filtering - Cloud includes advanced bot filtering with ~32K data center IP ranges excluded; CE has basic filtering
  • Premium Features - Marketing funnels, ecommerce revenue goals, SSO, and Sites API are cloud-only
  • Support - Cloud includes premium support from the team; CE is community-supported only

Why Isn’t Plausible Free? - Unlike Google Analytics which funds itself through surveillance capitalism and ad targeting, Plausible is independently owned and funded by subscribers. We collect no personal data and sell nothing to third parties. Your subscription supports ongoing development and keeps the project sustainable.
