Overview

The --handles flag allows you to monitor specific X accounts and get detailed summaries of their activity. Combined with --videos, Grok-X performs frame-by-frame analysis of video content to extract context that text alone cannot provide.

Use Case

This workflow is ideal for:
  • Monitoring journalists and content creators
  • Tracking political accounts and public figures
  • Analyzing video content patterns and engagement
  • Understanding what specific accounts are focused on over time

Example: Weekly Summary with Video Analysis

1

Run the command

Monitor a specific handle’s weekly activity with video frame analysis:
/grok-x "What has @atrupar posted about this week?" --handles atrupar --videos --from 2026-02-25
Flags explained:
  • --handles atrupar — Filter results to posts from @atrupar only
  • --videos — Enable video frame analysis for visual context
  • --from 2026-02-25 — Start date for the search window

Review the output

Grok-X returns a structured summary with video frame analysis:
@atrupar — Weekly Summary (Feb 25 – Mar 4, 2026) Aaron Rupar posted 34 times this week, with a sharp focus on Congressional hearings and White House press briefings. Video content accounted for 22 of 34 posts. Notable posts:
“Watching the press secretary explain why the administration doesn’t consider this a constitutional crisis is genuinely surreal.” — Feb 26, 2026 · 41K likes · 18K reposts
Video frame analysis: 47-second clip from the White House briefing room. Speaker at the podium, four reporters visible with raised hands. Chyron at bottom reads “LIVE: White House Press Briefing.” No visual aids or slides present.
“This exchange between Sen. Warren and the Treasury Secretary is the most direct questioning I’ve seen in months.” — Feb 28, 2026 · 67K likes · 29K reposts
Video frame analysis: Senate hearing chamber. Two individuals visible — one at the witness table, one at the dais. Caption overlay from C-SPAN feed. Timestamp shows 2h 14m into the hearing. Body language of the witness shows visible tension.
“They keep using the word ‘reform’ but nobody is defining what they’re reforming toward.” — Mar 1, 2026 · 28K likes · 11K reposts
Video frame analysis: Cable news panel, four guests. Lower-third identifies two speakers. Chyron reads “BREAKING: Senate vote delayed.” Studio lighting, no field reporting context. Engagement trend: Repost-to-like ratio averaged 0.44 this week, above his 90-day baseline of 0.31 — indicating unusually high amplification of his content.

Interpret the results

The output provides:
  • Post count and focus areas — What topics dominated the week
  • Notable posts with engagement metrics — High-impact content with likes and reposts
  • Video frame analysis — Visual context from key frames (chyrons, body language, settings)
  • Engagement trends — Comparative metrics showing amplification patterns

Key Features

Video Frame Analysis

When --videos is enabled, Grok-X extracts:
  • Visual context (settings, people, objects)
  • On-screen text (chyrons, captions, lower-thirds)
  • Body language and presentation style
  • Video duration and timestamps

Engagement Metrics

Each notable post includes:
  • Like counts
  • Repost counts
  • Reply counts (when significant)
  • Comparative baseline metrics
Video analysis works best with news clips, political content, and presentation-style videos. Pure entertainment or highly edited content may yield less structured insights.
  • --images — Analyze image content in addition to or instead of videos
  • --citations — Include source URLs for verification
  • --to — Specify an end date for the search window
