How it works

GitRead combines multiple technologies to deliver high-quality README files:
  1. Repository ingestion - GitRead uses a Python-based service powered by the gitingest library to clone and analyze your repository structure
  2. AI analysis - The processed content is sent to Google’s Gemini model through OpenRouter for intelligent README generation
  3. Interactive editing - View, edit, and download your generated README with full markdown support
