Prerequisites
Before installing Deeztracker Mobile, ensure your device meets these requirements:Android Version
Android 7.0 (Nougat) or higher
Storage Space
At least 50MB for the app, plus space for music files
Permissions
Storage permission for saving music files
Deezer Account
Active Deezer account to obtain ARL token
Installation Steps
Download the APK
Download the latest Deeztracker Mobile APK from the official releases page:
- Visit the GitHub releases page
- Download the latest
Deeztracker-X.X.X.apkfile - The file will be saved to your device’s Downloads folder
The APK file is typically named like
Deeztracker-1.1.1.apk based on the version number.Enable Unknown Sources
Before installing, you need to allow installation from unknown sources:For Android 8.0 and above:
- Open Settings on your device
- Navigate to Security & Privacy (or just Security)
- Find Install unknown apps or Unknown sources
- Select your browser or file manager (e.g., Chrome, Files)
- Toggle Allow from this source to ON
- Open Settings
- Navigate to Security
- Enable Unknown sources
- Confirm the warning message
Install the APK
Now you can install Deeztracker Mobile:
- Open your device’s File Manager or Downloads app
- Locate the
Deeztracker-X.X.X.apkfile - Tap on the APK file
- Review the permissions requested by the app:
- Storage: Required to save and read music files
- Internet: Required to download music from Deezer
- Tap Install
- Wait for the installation to complete (usually 10-30 seconds)
If you see a “Play Protect” warning, tap More details then Install anyway. This warning appears because the app is not distributed through the Play Store.
Grant Permissions
On first launch, Deeztracker will request necessary permissions:
- Storage Permission: Required to save downloaded music
- Tap Allow when prompted
- For Android 11+, select Allow management of all files
- Notification Permission (Android 13+): Optional but recommended
- Allows download progress notifications
- Enables playback controls in the notification shade
You can manage these permissions later in Settings → Apps → Deeztracker → Permissions.
First Launch Setup
When you first open Deeztracker Mobile, you’ll see the login screen. Before you can use the app, you need to:- Obtain your Deezer ARL token (see Quick Start guide for instructions)
- Enter the ARL token in the login field
- Tap the Login button

Troubleshooting Installation Issues
App Not Installing
App Not Installing
Problem: The APK file won’t install or installation fails.Solutions:
- Ensure you’ve enabled “Install from unknown sources” for your file manager/browser
- Check that you have enough storage space (at least 50MB free)
- Try downloading the APK again - the file may be corrupted
- Clear your Downloads folder cache: Settings → Apps → Downloads → Storage → Clear Cache
- Restart your device and try again
'App Not Installed' Error

Problem: You see “App not installed” or “There was a problem parsing the package.”Solutions:
- If updating: Uninstall the previous version first, then install the new APK
- Corrupted download: Delete the APK and download it again
- Incompatible device: Verify your Android version is 7.0 or higher (Settings → About Phone → Android version)
- Insufficient storage: Free up space on your device
Storage Permission Denied

Problem: The app crashes or can’t download files due to missing storage permission.Solutions:
- Open Settings → Apps → Deeztracker → Permissions
- Enable Storage or Files and Media permission
- For Android 11+, enable All files access in Special App Access settings
- Restart the app after granting permissions
Play Protect Warning

Problem: Google Play Protect blocks the installation.Solutions:
- Tap More details in the warning dialog
- Select Install anyway
- This is normal for apps distributed outside the Play Store
- The app is safe and open-source - you can verify the code on GitHub
App Crashes on Launch

Problem: Deeztracker closes immediately after opening.Solutions:
- Clear app data: Settings → Apps → Deeztracker → Storage → Clear Data
- Reinstall the app (uninstall, then install the APK again)
- Ensure your device has Android 7.0 or higher
- Check for device-specific compatibility issues in the GitHub issues page
Updating Deeztracker Mobile
When a new version is released:Install Over Existing App
Tap the new APK file - Android will update the app automatically.
Your login credentials, settings, and downloaded music will be preserved during updates.
Uninstalling Deeztracker Mobile
To remove the app from your device:- Open Settings → Apps
- Find and tap Deeztracker
- Tap Uninstall
- Confirm the uninstallation
Uninstalling removes the app and its settings, but your downloaded music files remain in the
Music/Deeztracker or Downloads/Deeztracker folder. You can manually delete these files if desired.System Requirements Summary
