Finding books
There are multiple ways to access books in ReUCM:Enter a book URL
On the home page, paste a book URL from a supported portal into the link input field and tap Go. The app will automatically detect the portal and navigate to the book page.
Browse portals
Use the built-in browser to navigate through supported portals. When you open a book page, the app will automatically detect it and switch to the book download interface.
Downloading a book
Once you’ve navigated to a book page, you’ll see the book’s metadata including title, authors, series information, and annotation.Check authorization status
If the book requires authorization and you’re not logged in, you’ll see an alert indicating you need to authorize. Configure your portal credentials in settings first.
Start the download
Tap the Download button to begin downloading the book. The app will:
- Fetch all book chapters from the portal
- Convert the content to FB2 format
- Display a progress indicator during the conversion process
You cannot navigate away from the book page while a download is in progress. The back button will be disabled until the download completes.
Saving books
After downloading, you have two options for managing your book:Share the book
Tap the Share button to share the downloaded FB2 file with other apps on your device. The share dialog includes:- Book title and authors
- Series information (if applicable)
- Last downloaded chapter title
- The FB2 file attachment
Save to device
Tap the Save button to save the book to your device:Grant storage permission
If this is your first time saving, you’ll need to grant storage permissions to the app.
Choose save location
The save behavior depends on your save settings:
- With save directory configured: The book is automatically saved to your configured directory using your filename template
- Without save directory: A file picker dialog appears, allowing you to choose where to save the book
Book information displayed
The book page shows comprehensive metadata:- Cover image: Visual representation of the book
- Title: Full book title
- Authors: All listed authors
- Series information: Series name and number (if part of a series)
- Annotation: Book description or summary
- Download progress: Real-time progress during download and conversion
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while downloading:- Download fails: Check your internet connection and ensure the portal is accessible
- Authorization required: Configure your credentials in settings for the specific portal
- Conversion errors: Try downloading the book again or refresh the book page
- Save fails: Verify you’ve granted storage permissions and have sufficient storage space
