ReUCM integrates with Android’s share system, allowing you to send book URLs from any app directly to ReUCM for downloading.

How it works

When you share a supported book URL to ReUCM, the app:
  1. Extracts the URL from the shared content
  2. Identifies which portal the book belongs to
  3. Extracts the book ID from the URL
  4. Opens the book page automatically in ReUCM
This feature is only available on Android devices. Share integration is not supported on other platforms.

Using share integration

1

Find a book URL

In your mobile browser or any app, navigate to a book page on a supported portal.
2

Open share menu

Tap your browser’s share button or use the system share functionality.
3

Select ReUCM

From the share sheet, select ReUCM as the destination app.
4

View book in ReUCM

ReUCM opens automatically and navigates directly to the book page, displaying metadata and download options.

ReUCM checks for shared content when the app launches:
  • If you shared a book URL to ReUCM while the app was closed, the app opens and immediately navigates to the book page
  • This happens automatically without any additional taps or navigation

Supported content types

The share integration accepts:
  • Direct book URLs: URLs pointing to specific book pages on supported portals
  • Text containing URLs: If you share text that contains a book URL, ReUCM extracts and processes it

Error handling

If something goes wrong during the share process:

Invalid URL

If the shared URL is not from a supported portal or doesn’t contain a valid book ID:
  • An error message appears explaining the issue
  • You remain on the current page in ReUCM

Unsupported portal

If the URL is from a book portal that ReUCM doesn’t support:
  • An error notification displays
  • The URL is not processed
Make sure you’re sharing a direct book page URL, not the portal’s homepage or search results page. The URL must contain a specific book identifier.

Example workflow

Here’s a typical scenario for using share integration:
1

Discover a book

You’re browsing a book portal in Chrome on your Android phone and find an interesting book.
2

Share to ReUCM

Instead of copying the URL and switching to ReUCM, you tap Chrome’s share button and select ReUCM.
3

Automatic processing

ReUCM opens, processes the URL, and shows the book page with all metadata loaded.
4

Download immediately

You can immediately tap the download button without any manual navigation or URL pasting.

Advantages over manual URL entry

Share integration offers several benefits:
  • Faster workflow: No need to copy and paste URLs
  • Fewer errors: Eliminates typos from manual entry
  • Context preservation: You can continue browsing in your browser while ReUCM processes the book
  • Seamless experience: Direct deep-linking to the book page

Troubleshooting

If share integration isn’t working:

ReUCM doesn’t appear in share menu

  • Make sure you’re on an Android device (share integration is Android-only)
  • Verify you’re sharing a URL or text content
  • Try restarting the app

Error message after sharing

Common error scenarios:
  • “Ошибка при открытии книги” (Error opening book): The URL format is not recognized
    • Verify the URL is from a supported portal
    • Ensure the URL points to a specific book page
    • Check that the URL contains a valid book identifier
If you frequently download books from the same portal, consider using the built-in browser for an even more integrated experience with automatic book detection.

Privacy and permissions

Share integration:
  • Only processes URLs and text shared explicitly by you
  • Does not access your clipboard automatically
  • Does not monitor or intercept shares to other apps
  • Only activates when you explicitly select ReUCM from the share menu
