Overview

The Transactions page is your central hub for viewing and managing all financial transactions. Money Tracker automatically extracts transactions from your Gmail inbox and allows you to add transactions manually or by uploading receipts.

Viewing Transactions

Transaction List

Transactions are displayed in a two-panel layout:
  • Left panel: Scrollable list of all transactions
  • Right panel: Detailed view of the selected transaction
  • Mobile: Full-screen overlay for transaction details
Each transaction card shows:
  • Merchant name
  • Transaction amount and currency
  • Transaction date
  • Category badge
  • Transaction type (income/expense)
  • Source email (if auto-extracted)

Pagination

Transactions load in pages of 50 items. Scroll to the bottom of the list to automatically load more transactions.

Adding Transactions

You have three ways to add transactions:

1. Manual Entry

Click the + button

Click the floating action button in the bottom-right corner and select “Add Manually”

Fill in transaction details

  • Type: Income or Expense
  • Merchant: Name of the merchant or sender
  • Date: Transaction date
  • Amount: Transaction amount (numeric)
  • Currency: Select from USD, EUR, GBP, ARS, MXN, and more
  • Category: Choose from 11 categories (food, transport, housing, etc.)

Save

Click “Create” to save the transaction

2. Upload Receipt or Invoice

AI-powered document analysis extracts transaction details automatically

Click the + button

Click the floating action button and select “Upload Document”

Upload file

Drag and drop or select:
  • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, WebP (max 3MB)
  • PDFs: Invoices and receipts (max 5MB)

AI Processing

The AI analyzes the document and automatically:
  • Extracts merchant name
  • Identifies transaction amount and currency
  • Detects transaction date
  • Categorizes the transaction
  • Saves to your transaction list

3. Automatic Gmail Extraction

When you connect your Gmail account, Money Tracker automatically:
  • Monitors your inbox for transaction-related emails
  • Extracts transaction details using AI
  • Creates transactions without manual input

Filtering Transactions

Use the filter bar to narrow down transactions:
Search for merchant names or transaction descriptions
Filter transactions by currency (USD, EUR, ARS, etc.)
Show only transactions from a specific Gmail account
Filter by category:
  • Salary
  • Entertainment
  • Investment
  • Food
  • Transport
  • Services
  • Health
  • Education
  • Housing
  • Clothing
  • Other
Show only income or only expenses
Set start and end dates to view transactions within a specific period

Managing Transactions

Editing a Transaction

  1. Click on a transaction to view details
  2. Click the “Edit” button
  3. Modify any field (type, merchant, amount, currency, category, date)
  4. Click “Save” to apply changes

Deleting a Transaction

Deleting a transaction is permanent and cannot be undone
  1. Click on a transaction to view details
  2. Click the “Delete” button
  3. Confirm the deletion
Important: When you delete a transaction that was auto-extracted from Gmail, it’s added to a discard list to prevent it from being re-imported during future email syncs.

Transaction Details

The detail panel shows comprehensive information:
  • Merchant: Company or person name
  • Amount: Formatted with currency symbol
  • Currency: 3-letter ISO code (USD, EUR, etc.)
  • Type: Income or Expense badge
  • Category: Color-coded category badge
  • Transaction Date: When the transaction occurred
  • Description: Additional transaction details (for auto-extracted transactions)
  • Source Email: Email address where the transaction was found (if applicable)
  • Created At: When the transaction was added to Money Tracker

Multi-Currency Support

Money Tracker supports multiple currencies:
  • USD (US Dollar)
  • EUR (Euro)
  • GBP (British Pound)
  • ARS (Argentine Peso)
  • MXN (Mexican Peso)
  • BRL (Brazilian Real)
  • CLP (Chilean Peso)
  • COP (Colombian Peso)

No Gmail Account Warning

Connect your Gmail to enable automatic transaction extraction
If you haven’t connected a Gmail account, you’ll see a banner at the top of the Transactions page prompting you to connect one. Click “Connect Account” to go to Settings.
