Overview

The Echoes of the Past analytics dashboard provides comprehensive insights into your quiz performance, conversation quality, and learning progress. Track metrics, review feedback, and analyze your growth over time. Access your performance data and feedback.

Access Analytics Dashboard

Navigate to the analytics page at /app/analytics.You can access analytics:
  • From the main navigation menu
  • Automatically after completing a quiz (with feedback)
  • By clicking analytics links throughout the app

Understand Page Layout

The analytics page is organized into sections:Top Section:
  • Page header: “Analytics”
  • Description: “View analytics for the app.”
Analytics Cards:
  • Four metric cards showing key performance indicators
  • Displayed in a responsive grid (1 column on mobile, 2-4 on larger screens)
Feedback Section:
  • Left panel: List of recent interviews
  • Right panel (desktop): Detailed feedback display
  • Bottom sheet (mobile): Feedback details

Check for Available Data

If you haven’t completed any quizzes:
  • A centered message appears: “No Feedback Data Available”
  • Subtext: “Complete some interviews to see feedback here.”
  • No analytics cards or feedback lists display
Analytics are generated only after completing quizzes. Regular conversations (non-quiz calls) do not produce analytics feedback.

Understand Key Metrics

Interpret the four primary analytics cards.

Total Score Card

What it shows: Overall interview performance across all quizzesDisplay elements:
  • Large numeric score (e.g., “85”)
  • Trend badge showing direction (↑ or ↓) and percentage change
  • Footer message:
    • “Performance improving” if trend is up
    • “Room for improvement” if trend is down
  • Description: “Overall interview performance”
  • Visual: Blue gradient background with blue border

Category Score Card

What it shows: Average performance across all evaluation categoriesDisplay elements:
  • Average category score (e.g., “78”)
  • Trend indicator with percentage
  • Footer message:
    • “Categories improving” if trend is up
    • “Areas to focus on” if trend is down
  • Description: “Average across all categories”
  • Visual: Emerald gradient background with emerald border

Strengths Card

What it shows: Total count of identified strengths across all feedbackDisplay elements:
  • Number of strengths (e.g., “12”)
  • Trend direction and value
  • Footer message:
    • “New strengths identified” if trend is up
    • “Consistent strengths” if trend is stable/down
  • Description: “Key strong points”
  • Visual: Cyan gradient background with cyan border

Areas to Improve Card

What it shows: Count of improvement areas identified in feedbackDisplay elements:
  • Number of improvement areas (e.g., “5”)
  • Trend indicator (↓ is positive, meaning fewer areas to improve)
  • Footer message:
    • “Fewer areas to improve” if trend is down (improvement)
    • “Areas identified” if trend is up (more areas found)
  • Description: “Points to work on”
  • Visual: Purple gradient background with purple border

Trend indicators compare your recent performance against previous results. Upward trends are generally positive, except for “Areas to Improve” where downward is better.

View Conversation History

Explore your past quiz conversations and feedback.

Locate Recent Interviews Section

On the left side of the analytics page:
  • Header displays: “Recent Interviews (X)” where X is total count
  • List shows all completed quizzes with feedback
  • Sorted by most recent first

Review Interview Entries

Each interview in the list displays:
  • Historical figure avatar: Circular profile image
  • Figure name: Full name of the historical figure
  • Timestamp: When the quiz was completed
  • Score preview: Quick view of performance
Entries are clickable to view full details.

Select an Interview

Click on any interview entry to view detailed feedback:On Desktop:
  • Feedback details appear in the right panel (3/4 of screen width)
  • Panel header shows “Interview Feedback”
  • Content area is scrollable
On Mobile:
  • A bottom sheet slides up covering 85% of screen height
  • Sheet header includes a Scroll icon and “Interview Feedback” title
  • Swipe down or click outside to close

Browse Through History

Navigate your interview history:
  • Scroll through the list to see all past quizzes
  • Click different entries to compare feedback
  • Identify patterns in your performance
  • Track improvement over time

Read Identified Strengths

The Strengths section lists:
  • Specific topics or answers where you excelled
  • Accurate knowledge demonstrated
  • Deep understanding shown in responses
  • Positive patterns in your conversation

Study Areas for Improvement

The Areas for Improvement section identifies:
  • Knowledge gaps revealed during the quiz

Compare Across Quizzes

To track progress:
  • Switch between different interview entries
  • Compare scores on similar historical figures

Feedback is AI-generated based on conversation transcripts. Ensure your microphone quality is good for accurate analysis.

Interpreting Your Metrics

Total Score

Represents overall knowledge and conversation quality. Aim for scores above 80 for strong performance.

Category Scores

Shows balanced knowledge across topics. Identify low-scoring categories to focus your learning.

Strengths

Increasing strengths indicate broadening knowledge. Build on these areas of expertise.

Improvements

Decreasing improvement areas show progress. Focus study on these specific topics.

Trends

Track direction of change over time. Positive trends indicate effective learning.

Consistency

Regular quiz-taking provides more accurate trend data and better insights.

Using Analytics for Growth

  1. Review feedback thoroughly: Read all strengths and improvement areas
  2. Research identified gaps: Study topics mentioned in improvement areas
  3. Retake quizzes: Challenge the same figures again after studying
  4. Vary difficulty: Gradually increase quiz difficulty as you improve
  5. Track patterns: Note recurring strengths and weaknesses across quizzes
Upward trends (↑):
  • Positive for: Total Score, Category Scores, Strengths
  • Shows improvement and growth
  • Indicates effective learning strategies
Downward trends (↓):
  • Positive for: Areas to Improve (fewer areas = better)
  • May indicate inconsistency for other metrics
  • Suggests need to review study methods
Percentage changes:
  • Small (0-5%): Minor variation, normal fluctuation
  • Moderate (5-15%): Notable change, review recent quizzes
  • Large (15%+): Significant shift, investigate cause
  • Your score may vary significantly across different figures
  • Some historical periods or fields may be more familiar
  • Use analytics to identify which types of figures you know best
  • Challenge yourself with figures from less familiar areas
  • Build breadth by covering diverse categories
Short-term goals:
  • Achieve a specific total score (e.g., 85+)
  • Reduce areas for improvement to under 3
  • Maintain consistent scores across 5 quizzes

Troubleshooting

  • Complete at least one quiz with feedback generation
  • Ensure feedback was successfully generated (check for redirect to analytics)
  • Refresh the page to reload data
  • Check that you’re logged into the correct account
  • Verify database connectivity
  • Check browser console for specific error messages
  • Verify feedback data structure is valid (the app validates automatically)
  • Refresh the page to retry data loading
  • Contact support if error persists with details
  • Ensure feedback generation completed successfully
  • Check that quizzes (not regular calls) were completed
  • Regular conversations don’t generate feedback
  • Only quiz conversations appear in analytics
  • Ensure JavaScript is enabled in your browser
  • Try clicking directly on the interview entry
  • Check for browser console errors
  • Update to the latest browser version
  • AI evaluation varies based on response quality and completeness

Data Privacy and Storage

All analytics data is stored securely in the database and associated with your user account. Feedback and scores are private and only visible to you.
