What is blind review mode?
Blind review mode replaces candidate names with anonymous identifiers throughout your dashboard. This allows you to focus on objective metrics and qualifications without being influenced by:- Names that may indicate gender, ethnicity, or nationality
- Unconscious associations with certain names
- Personal connections or prior knowledge of candidates
Enable blind review mode
Toggle blind review mode on or off at any time:Locate the Blind Mode toggle
In the top-right area of your Company Dashboard, find the Blind Mode button next to your job selection dropdown.
Click the toggle
Click the Blind Mode button to enable anonymous review. The button will:
- Change to a blue/primary color
- Display an eye-slash icon
- Show a shadow effect to indicate active state
How it works
Anonymized identifiers
When blind mode is enabled, candidates are displayed as:- Track individual candidates without knowing their identity
- Compare candidates across multiple reviews
- Export results with consistent anonymization
What gets anonymized
Blind mode hides:Candidate names in the results table
Names in all charts and visualizations
Names in the search/filter bar
Names in candidate detail views
What remains visible
Blind mode still displays:All evaluation scores (Skill, GitHub, Interview, etc.)
Final scores and rankings
Risk levels and recommendations
Strengths and weaknesses
Candidate ID (beneath the name when blind mode is off)
Technical information like skills, projects, and GitHub activity remain visible since they are objective qualifications necessary for evaluation.
Search and filter in blind mode
The search functionality adapts to blind review mode:- Blind mode OFF: Search by candidate name
- Blind mode ON: Search by candidate ID (e.g., “CAND-1234”)
Visual analytics in blind mode
All charts and graphs automatically update to use anonymous identifiers:- Final Score Leaderboard: X-axis shows “Candidate CAND-XXXX” labels
- Skill Match Breakdown: Bars labeled with candidate IDs
- GitHub Activity: Anonymous identifiers on all data points
Best practices for blind review
When to enable blind mode
Consider enabling blind mode:- During initial screening - Remove name bias when first reviewing evaluation results
- For shortlist creation - Focus purely on metrics when selecting top candidates
- In committee reviews - Share anonymized results with hiring team members
- For compliance - Meet diversity and inclusion requirements in your hiring process
When to disable blind mode
You may want to disable blind mode:- After shortlisting - When scheduling interviews with selected candidates
- For personal outreach - When contacting candidates about next steps
- During reference checks - When you need to match candidates to their applications
- For final documentation - When generating offer letters or hire reports
Maintaining anonymity
To preserve the benefits of blind review:- Avoid cross-referencing - Don’t look up candidate names in your application system while in blind mode
- Share anonymized reports - Export or screenshot blind mode results when sharing with stakeholders
- Delay name reveal - Keep blind mode on until you’ve completed initial scoring and ranking
- Document decisions - Note the candidate ID when making decisions in blind mode
Exporting blind review results
When exporting evaluation data with blind mode enabled:- Results tables include anonymized identifiers
- Charts use candidate IDs on all axes
- Rank and score data remain intact
