Creating a New Account

Medusa Wallet requires an account to securely manage your Lightning wallets and payments.
1

Open Medusa Wallet

Launch the Medusa Wallet application on your device.
2

Navigate to Sign Up

If this is your first time, you’ll see the sign-up screen. If you already have an account, tap “Sign In” instead.
3

Enter Your Details

Fill in the registration form:
  • Username: Choose a unique username (no spaces)
  • Email: Enter a valid email address
  • Password: Create a secure password
Choose a strong password that you don’t use for other services. This protects your Bitcoin funds.
4

Complete Registration

Tap the “Sign Up” button to create your account. A default wallet will be automatically created for you.
During registration, Medusa Wallet automatically creates:
  • A default Lightning wallet
  • A Lightning address (paylink) for receiving payments

Signing In to Your Account

If you already have a Medusa Wallet account:
1

Navigate to Sign In

From the welcome screen, tap “Sign In”.
2

Enter Your Credentials

  • Identifier: Enter your username or email
  • Password: Enter your account password
3

Access Your Wallet

Tap “Sign In” to access your wallets and funds.

Advanced Configuration

Changing the LNbits URL

Medusa Wallet is powered by LNbits. By default, it connects to wallet.medusa.bz, but you can configure it to use your own LNbits instance.
Only change this setting if you’re running your own LNbits server. Using an incorrect URL will prevent the wallet from functioning.
1

Access URL Settings

On the sign-up or sign-in screen, look for “Change LNbits URL” at the bottom.
2

Enter Custom URL

Enter your custom LNbits server URL in the format: https://your-server.com
3

Save and Continue

Save the settings and proceed with sign-up or sign-in.
