Understanding visibility levels
Every diary entry has one of three visibility settings:Public entries
Who can see it: All your accepted friends Public entries appear in the feeds of all users who have an accepted friendship with you. This is the default setting when creating a new entry.Public entries are NOT visible to all MyDiary users - only to people who are your friends.
Private entries
Who can see it: Only you Private entries are completely hidden from all other users. Use this setting for:- Personal reflections you don’t want to share
- Sensitive thoughts or experiences
- Draft entries you might share later
Friends-only entries
Who can see it: Specific friends you select Friends-only entries are only visible to the friends you explicitly choose. This gives you granular control over sharing.Setting visibility when creating entries
Click the visibility dropdown
Look for the icon at the bottom of the entry form (defaults to a public icon) and click it to open the visibility menu.
Select your privacy level
Choose from three options:
- Publico (Public) - Visible to all friends
- Privado (Private) - Visible only to you
- Solo algunos amigos (Only some friends) - Visible to selected friends
Select friends (if needed)
If you chose “Solo algunos amigos”, a modal will open showing your friend list.
- Check the box next to each friend who should see this entry
- Click Listo (Done) to confirm
Changing visibility on existing entries
You can update the visibility of any entry you’ve already published:Viewing shared entries in your feed
Your home feed displays entries from multiple sources:- Your own entries (all visibility levels)
- Public entries from your friends
- Friends-only entries where you were specifically selected
Visual indicators
Each entry shows a small icon indicating its visibility:| Icon | Visibility Level |
