Overview
Slideshow mode in ImageGlass provides an immersive, hands-free way to view your image collection with automatic transitions. Perfect for presentations, digital photo frames, or reviewing large image sets.
Starting Slideshow
To start slideshow mode:
- Open an image in ImageGlass
- Press F11 or go to View > Slideshow
- ImageGlass launches in fullscreen mode with automatic image transitions
Slideshow opens as a separate window, allowing you to continue using ImageGlass normally in the background.
Slideshow Settings
Transition Interval
Configure how long each image displays:
Open Settings
Go to Settings > Image section
Set Interval
Adjust Slideshow interval (in seconds)
Enable Random Intervals (Optional)
Check Use random interval and set the range for varied timing
Display Options
- Fullscreen slideshow: Automatically enters fullscreen mode (default)
- Show countdown: Displays a countdown timer in the bottom-right corner
- Loop slideshow: Automatically restarts from the first image when reaching the end
- Background color: Customize the slideshow background color
Audio Notification
Set Images to notify sound to play a system sound after viewing a specific number of images. Set to 0 to disable.

You can zoom using the mouse wheel and pan with Ctrl+Wheel (vertical) or Shift+Wheel (horizontal) during slideshow.

Image Loading Order
Change the order in which images are displayed:
- Open the context menu during slideshow (
Alt+F)
- Navigate to Loading order
- Select sorting criteria:
- File name
- File extension
- File size
- Creation date
- Last modified date
- Last access date
- Random
- Choose sort direction (Ascending/Descending)
Window Modes
Fullscreen Mode
Slideshow typically runs in fullscreen mode:
- Press
F11 to toggle fullscreen
- Automatically uses the primary monitor
- Hides all window chrome and controls
Frameless Mode
For a borderless window without fullscreen:
- Press
F10 to toggle frameless mode
- Maintains window controls while removing title bar
Window Fit Mode
Automatically resizes the window to match image dimensions:
- Press
F9 to toggle window fit
- Useful for comparing images side-by-side with other applications
Window fit automatically exits fullscreen mode when enabled.
Tips and Best Practices
For presentations: Use slideshow with a fixed interval and loop enabled for continuous display.
For photo reviews: Set a longer interval (10+ seconds) with countdown visible to pace your review.
For digital photo frames: Enable random intervals and loop slideshow for natural variation.
The cursor automatically hides after 3 seconds of inactivity. Move the mouse to show it again.
Troubleshooting
Slideshow Won’t Start
- Ensure you have at least one image loaded
- Check that slideshow interval is greater than 0
- Verify the image file format is supported
Images Transition Too Quickly/Slowly
- Adjust the slideshow interval in Settings > Image
- Disable random interval if timing is inconsistent
Slideshow Stops Automatically
- Check if Loop slideshow is enabled in settings
- Verify that Images to notify sound isn’t set to close slideshow
