Best Practices
Effective Tagging
- Be consistent - Use the same tag names for similar conversations
- Keep tags short - Easier to scan and apply
- Avoid over-tagging - Too many tags reduces their usefulness
- Use descriptive names - “Client Meeting” vs “Meeting”
- Establish conventions - Decide on naming patterns and stick to them
Writing Descriptions
- Summarize key points - What was discussed or decided
- Add context - When, why, who was involved
- Include keywords - Terms you might search for later
- Note related items - Link to other relevant bookmarks or resources
- Keep it concise - Detailed enough to be useful, brief enough to scan
Maintenance
- Review periodically - Remove outdated bookmarks
- Update descriptions - Add new context as projects evolve
- Merge duplicate tags - Consolidate similar tags
- Archive old projects - Delete or rename tags for completed work
- Refine your system - Adjust tagging strategy as needed
Collaboration (If Supported)
- Use shared tags - Coordinate naming with team members
- Document tag meanings - Maintain a guide for team tags
- Respect tag ownership - Don’t edit others’ personal bookmarks
- Communicate changes - Notify team if you modify shared tags
