The Opsgenie integration sends Sentry alert notifications to Opsgenie, creating alerts for your on-call teams. You can configure Sentry alert rules to notify specific Opsgenie teams with a defined priority level.

Features

Alert routing

Send Sentry issue alerts to Opsgenie teams with P1–P5 priority levels.

Team targeting

Route different alert rules to different Opsgenie teams based on project or issue type.

Installation

1

Get an Opsgenie API key

In Opsgenie, go to Settings > API key management and create a new API key with Create and Update access. Copy the key.
2

Navigate to integrations in Sentry

In Sentry, go to Settings > Integrations and find Opsgenie. Click Install.
3

Add your Opsgenie account

Enter your Opsgenie API key and a name for this account (for example, your organization name). Click Save.
4

Add team integration keys

After saving the account, add team integration keys for each Opsgenie team you want to notify. Each team in Opsgenie has its own integration key, which you can find in the team’s settings under Integrations → API.

Configuring alert rules

Once installed, you can add Opsgenie as an action in any Sentry alert rule:
1

Open or create an alert rule

Go to Alerts in your project and click an existing rule or create a new one.
2

Add the Opsgenie action

Under Then perform these actions, select Send a notification to Opsgenie account.
3

Configure the action

Choose:
  • Account: the Opsgenie account you connected
  • Team: the Opsgenie team to notify
  • Priority: P1 (critical) through P5 (informational); defaults to P3
4

Save the rule

Click Save Rule. Sentry will now create Opsgenie alerts when the rule triggers.

Alert priority levels

Opsgenie alerts created by Sentry use the priority you configure in the alert rule action:
PrioritySeverity
P1Critical
P2High
P3Moderate (default)
P4Low
P5Informational
The default priority is P3 when no priority is explicitly selected in the alert rule action.

Troubleshooting

Alerts not appearing in Opsgenie
  • Verify the API key has Create and Update permissions.
  • Confirm the team integration key is correctly entered in Sentry’s Opsgenie account settings.
  • Check that the Sentry alert rule has triggered (visible in the alert rule’s Alert History).
Wrong team receiving alerts
  • Each Opsgenie team requires its own integration key. Make sure you’ve added a team key for every team you want to target and that you’ve selected the correct team in the alert rule action.
