Get up and running with Track Better in just a few simple steps. This guide will walk you through your first time opening the app and navigating the interface.

Open Track Better

Launch the app in your browser or from your home screen if you’ve installed it as a PWA. The app works completely offline once loaded.
For the best experience, install Track Better as a Progressive Web App. Look for the download icon in the top-right corner of the header.

Welcome & Enter Your Name

On your first visit, you’ll see a welcome modal with a friendly greeting.First time greeting modal
  1. Click Let’s Begin to proceed
  2. Enter your name in the input field
  3. Click Continue or press Enter
Your name is stored locally on your device and will appear in the header: “Welcome, [Your Name]!”. You can change it anytime in Settings.

Understand the Interface

After entering your name, you’ll see the main app interface with three key sections:The sticky header shows:
  • Track Better logo and app name
  • Personal greeting with your name
  • Current date in readable format (e.g., “Sat, Mar 7”)
  • Streak counter 🔥 showing consecutive days of workouts
  • Theme toggle (Sun/Moon icon) to switch between light and dark mode
  • Install button (Download icon) if the app isn’t installed yet
The streak counter only appears after you’ve completed workouts on consecutive days. Keep going to build your streak!

Bottom Navigation

Three tabs to navigate between sections:

Today

View and log today’s scheduled workout

Week

See the complete 7-day workout program

Settings

Customize your profile and manage data

Navigate Between Tabs

Click any of the three navigation buttons at the bottom to explore:Today Tab (default view):
  • Shows today’s workout based on the day of the week
  • Displays a gradient card with workout focus (e.g., “Push Day (Chest, Shoulders, Triceps)”)
  • Lists all exercises with video demos, target sets/reps, and logging controls
  • Shows progress: “Progress: 0/19 sets logged”
Week Tab:
  • Calendar view of the entire week
  • Visual indicators showing completed days (green checkmarks)
  • Quick overview of daily workout focus
  • Historical workout data
Settings Tab:
  • Change your display name
  • Toggle theme between light and dark mode
  • View total days logged and workout statistics
  • Export/import data for backup
  • Reset today’s progress or hard reset all data
The active tab is saved automatically. When you return to the app, it will open on the last tab you visited.

Check Today's Workout

In the Today tab, you’ll see:

Each workout includes:
  • Day and focus (e.g., Monday - Push Day)
  • Progress tracker showing sets completed vs total sets
  • List of exercises with detailed information:
    • Exercise name with dumbbell icon 🏋️
    • Target sets and reps (e.g., “Target: 3 sets - 15-20”)
    • Form notes and tips
    • Video demonstration (auto-plays on loop)
If there’s no workout scheduled for today (rare), you’ll see a “No Workout Scheduled” card. The workout program covers all 7 days of the week.

Quick Reference

Track Better uses your device’s current day of the week to automatically load the corresponding workout from the 7-day program. Each day has a specific focus:
  • Monday: Push Day (Chest, Shoulders, Triceps)
  • Tuesday: Legs & Calves
  • Wednesday: Pull Day (Back, Biceps, Core)
  • Thursday: Active Recovery & Core
  • Friday: Full Body Circuit
  • Saturday: Advanced Lower Body & Shoulders
  • Sunday: Advanced Upper Body & Arms
No, all data is stored locally on your device using localStorage. This ensures your data stays private and the app works completely offline. You can export your data from Settings to back it up or transfer to another device.
Yes! Use the Export Data feature in Settings to download your workout logs, then use Import Data on another device to sync your progress.
Your streak will reset if you don’t complete a workout for a day. However, all your historical data is preserved in the Week view. You can always pick up where you left off!
