Gitlantis is available on both the Visual Studio Code Marketplace and OpenVSX. Choose the installation method that works best for your editor.

Requirements

  • VS Code version 1.80.0 or higher
  • An open workspace or folder to explore

Install from VS Code Marketplace

Open VS Code

Launch Visual Studio Code on your machine.

Open the Extensions view

Click the Extensions icon in the Activity Bar on the left side, or press:
  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + X
  • Linux/Windows: Ctrl + Shift + X

Search for Gitlantis

Type Gitlantis in the search box and look for the extension published by brian-njogu.

Install the extension

Click the Install button next to the Gitlantis extension.
You can also install directly from the Visual Studio Marketplace web page.

Install from OpenVSX

If you’re using an editor that uses OpenVSX (like VSCodium), you can install Gitlantis from there:

Open your editor

Launch your VSCode-compatible editor.

Access extensions

Open the Extensions view using the same keyboard shortcuts as above.

Search for Gitlantis

Search for Gitlantis by brian-njogu.

Install

Click Install to add the extension to your editor.

Verify installation

Once installed, you can verify Gitlantis is ready to use:
  1. Open the Command Palette:
    • Mac: Cmd + Shift + P
    • Linux/Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  2. Type Gitlantis — you should see the command appear in the list
If the command doesn’t appear, try reloading your VS Code window with the Developer: Reload Window command.
