Once you’ve installed and verified BloxChat, you can start chatting with other players in your Roblox games. This guide covers all the features available in the desktop application.

Joining a Roblox Game

BloxChat automatically detects when you join a Roblox game by monitoring your Roblox logs folder.
1

Launch BloxChat

Open the BloxChat desktop application and ensure you’re logged in.
2

Join a Roblox game

Launch any Roblox game through the Roblox client or browser.
3

Start chatting

BloxChat will automatically detect your game session and connect you to the appropriate chat channel.
Each Roblox server has a unique JobId. BloxChat uses this to create separate chat channels, so you’ll only see messages from players in the same server instance.

Understanding Channels

BloxChat organizes conversations by Roblox server instances (JobId-based channels).

How Channels Work

  • Automatic switching: When you join a different Roblox server, BloxChat automatically switches to that server’s channel
  • Isolated conversations: Each server has its own chat history
  • Server identification: The channel header shows your current JobId

Auto-Join Messages

You can configure BloxChat to automatically send a message when you join a new channel. This lets other players know you’ve joined the server.
  1. Open Settings from the BloxChat menu
  2. Scroll to the Automation section
  3. Enter your desired message in the Auto Join Message field
  4. Click Save Settings
Example messages:
  • joined the channel
  • hey everyone!
  • 👋

  • Green text: You’re within the limit
  • Red text: Your message is too long and cannot be sent
The default character limit is typically 280 characters, but server administrators can configure different limits per channel.
