  • EAN-13 (most common retail format)
  • UPC-A (North American retail)
  • Code128 (flexible alphanumeric)
  • EAN-8 (short format)

Stock Management

Automatic Stock Updates

Inventario automatically adjusts stock levels when:
  • Sales are created: Stock decreases by the quantity sold
  • Sales are edited: Stock adjusts based on the difference
  • Sales are deleted: Stock is restored
  • Purchases are recorded: Stock increases by the quantity purchased
  • Purchases are deleted: Stock decreases accordingly
  • Returns are processed: Stock is restored for returned items

Low Stock Alerts

The system monitors stock levels and alerts you when:
  • Products reach zero stock
  • Products fall below the low stock threshold (default: 5 units)
Low stock warnings appear immediately after completing a sale that brings inventory below the threshold.

Best Practices

Create meaningful categories that match your business:
  • Electronics
  • Groceries
  • Beverages
  • Office Supplies
This makes filtering and reporting much easier.
Barcodes speed up the sales process significantly. Even if you only add barcodes to your best-selling items, it will improve efficiency.
Regularly review and update your selling prices based on:
  • Changes in purchase costs
  • Market conditions
  • Competitor pricing
Check your inventory regularly and reorder products before they run out. Use the inventory report to identify products that need restocking.
If a product is no longer sold and has no sales history, you can delete it to keep your catalog clean and organized.

Tips for Success

  • Start Simple: Begin with your most popular products and expand your catalog gradually
  • Consistent Naming: Use clear, consistent names so products are easy to find
  • Regular Audits: Periodically verify physical stock matches system records
  • Category Strategy: Don’t create too many categories - keep it manageable
  • Price Strategy: Ensure your selling price covers costs and desired profit margin

Troubleshooting

Product Not Found by Barcode

  • Verify the barcode is entered correctly in the product details
  • Check that the barcode scanner is working properly
  • Ensure the barcode belongs to a product owned by your account

Cannot Delete Product

If you see an error when trying to delete a product, it means the product has sales associated with it. You have two options:
  1. Keep the product in your catalog (recommended)
  2. Delete all associated sales first (not recommended)

Stock Count Doesn’t Match

If your physical stock doesn’t match the system:
  1. Review recent sales and purchases
  2. Check for any deleted or edited transactions
  3. Manually adjust the stock level by editing the product
For significant stock adjustments, document the reason in your records for future reference.
  • Sales - Learn how products are sold and stock is decremented
  • Purchases - Understand how purchases increase product stock
  • Reports - View inventory reports and low stock alerts
