The Map Tools page provides interactive maps of all Tarkov locations with customizable pin placement, labeling, and preset saving capabilities. Use it to mark quest objectives, loot spawns, extracts, or any location you need to remember.

Map viewing

Selecting a map

At the top of the page, you’ll see buttons for all available maps:
  • Customs
  • Woods
  • Shoreline
  • Reserve
  • Interchange
  • Factory
  • Lighthouse
  • Streets of Tarkov
  • Ground Zero
  • The Lab
  • And more
Click any map button to load that location. Your last selected map is remembered and automatically loaded on your next visit.

2D vs 3D view modes

Most maps support both viewing modes: 2D view
  • Flat, top-down map image
  • Cleaner, simpler layout
  • Faster performance
  • Better for precise pin placement
3D view
  • Isometric/perspective map rendering
  • Detailed building interiors
  • Visual depth and landmarks
  • More immersive planning
Some maps (like Factory) only have 2D images available. The 3D toggle is automatically disabled for these locations.
Switch between modes using the 2D/3D toggle button on the map canvas. Pan
  • Click and drag the map to move around
  • Touch and drag on mobile devices
Zoom
  • Use the mouse wheel to zoom in/out
  • Pinch to zoom on touch devices
  • Zoom controls appear on the canvas
Reset view
  • Click the reset button to return to the default zoom and position

Pin placement and editing

Creating a new pin

Click the Add button

In the right panel (or bottom sheet on mobile), click “Add Pin”.

Enter placement mode

The cursor changes to indicate placement mode.

Click on the map

Choose the exact location for your pin.

Configure the pin

A dialog appears to set the label, color, and shape.

Save the pin

Click Save to place the pin on the map.
You can cancel placement mode at any time by clicking the “Cancel” button or pressing Escape.

Pin customization options

Label
  • Text description for the pin
  • Supports multi-word labels with chip-based input (see Label System below)
  • Optional - pins can be unlabeled
Color
  • Red
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Purple
  • White
Shape
  • Circle
  • Diamond
  • Square
  • Triangle
  • Star
  • Marker (location pin icon)

Editing existing pins

To edit a pin:
  1. Click the pin on the map, or
  2. Click the settings icon next to the pin in the pin list panel
The edit dialog appears with the current values. Modify any field and click Save.

Dragging pins

You can reposition pins by clicking and dragging them directly on the map. The new position is saved automatically when you release the pin.

Deleting pins

From the map:
  • Click the pin to open the edit dialog
  • Click the Delete button
From the pin list:
  • Click the X icon next to the pin

Pin display settings

The right panel (or bottom sheet on mobile) includes controls for adjusting how pins appear on the map:

Pin opacity

Slider control from 0% to 100%:
  • Lower opacity makes pins less prominent
  • Higher opacity makes pins more visible
  • Default: 70%
  • Useful when pins overlap map details

Pin size

Slider control from 8px to 32px:
  • Smaller pins reduce clutter
  • Larger pins are easier to see
  • Default: 22px
  • Adjust based on your screen size and zoom level

Show labels toggle

Checkbox to show/hide pin labels:
  • On - Labels appear next to pins
  • Off - Only pin markers are visible
  • Useful for decluttering when you have many pins
All pin display settings are saved per map and view mode (2D/3D), so you can have different preferences for each configuration.

Label system

The label input uses a chip-based system for better organization:

How it works

  • Type your label text
  • Press Space, Enter, or comma to create a chip
  • Each word becomes a separate chip
  • Chips appear as colored tags in the input

Managing chips

Add chips:
  • Type and press Space/Enter/comma
  • Paste multi-word text to create multiple chips
Remove chips:
  • Click the X on any chip
  • Press Backspace when the input is empty to delete the last chip
Edit chips:
  • Delete the chip and recreate it
  • Or clear all and retype

Label display

On the map, chip-based labels appear as:
  • Individual words separated by spaces
  • Clean, readable text next to pins
  • Consistent formatting across all pins
Use the chip system to create structured labels like “Quest • Gunsmith • Part 6” or “Loot • Tech • GPU” for easier scanning.

Pin presets

Presets let you save and restore entire sets of pins, making it easy to switch between different layouts or share your pin configurations.

Saving a preset

Configure your pins

Place and customize all the pins you want to save.

Open the Presets section

Expand the “Presets” section in the pin panel.

Enter a preset name

Type a descriptive name like “Quest Markers” or “Loot Routes”.

Click Save Preset

Your current pin layout is saved locally.
Presets are saved per map and view mode (2D/3D).

Loading a preset

Open the Presets section

Find the preset you want to load.

Click Apply

Your current pins are replaced with the preset’s pins.
Applying a preset removes all current pins on the map and replaces them with the preset configuration.

Sharing presets

Each saved preset has a “Share” button that generates a URL:
  1. Click the Share button next to a preset
  2. A URL is generated containing the preset data
  3. Copy the URL and send it to others
  4. Anyone with the URL can open it to automatically load those pins
URL structure:
  • Contains the map ID
  • View mode (2D/3D)
  • Encoded pin data (positions, labels, colors, shapes)
Share preset URLs with your squad to coordinate strategies, mark loot routes, or plan quest runs together.

Managing presets

Delete a preset:
  • Click the delete icon next to the preset name
  • Confirm the deletion
Rename a preset:
  • Delete the old preset
  • Save a new preset with the updated name

Right panel resizing

On desktop, the pin list panel on the right side of the screen is resizable:
  • Hover over the left edge of the panel
  • The cursor changes to indicate the resize handle
  • Click and drag left or right to adjust the width
  • Release to set the new width
Width limits:
  • Minimum: 180px
  • Maximum: 500px
  • Default: 280px
Your chosen width is saved and restored on your next visit.

Mobile experience

On mobile devices, the interface adapts:

Bottom sheets

Instead of a side panel, map info and pin controls appear in bottom sheets: Info button (i icon):
  • Opens a sheet with map information
  • Name, wiki link, and details
Pins button (pin icon):
  • Opens the pin list and controls
  • Pin display settings
  • Preset management

Floating action buttons (FABs)

Two buttons float over the bottom-right corner:
  • Info FAB - Toggle map information
  • Pins FAB - Toggle pin panel
Both highlight when their respective bottom sheet is open.

Use cases

Quest objective markers

Filter tasks by map

On the Tasks page, filter by the map you’re raiding.

Open the Map Tools page

Switch to the map corresponding to your filtered tasks.

Mark quest locations

Place pins at objective locations with labels like “Plant Item - Dorms 3F”.

Color-code by task

Use different colors for different quests or objective types.

Create a preset named after the quest chain.

Loot route planning

Research high-value spawns

Identify loot locations you want to hit.

Place pins at each spawn

Mark LEDX spawns, tech rooms, stashes, etc.

Label by item type

Use labels like “GPU”, “LEDX”, “Stash”, “Tech”.

Color by priority

Red for high value, yellow for medium, green for low.

Extract planning

Identify all possible extracts

Check which extracts are available for your spawn.

Green for always-available, yellow for conditional.
