Accessing Search
Navigate to the search page using the/search route. The search interface includes:
- A prominent search input field
- Real-time autocomplete suggestions
- Comprehensive results display
How to Search
Entering Search Queries
- Type your search term into the search box
- As you type, autocomplete suggestions appear automatically (after 2 characters)
- Click a suggestion to populate the search field, or continue typing
- Press Enter or click the Search button to see full results
Search is case-insensitive and matches partial names. For example, searching for “bagmati” will find “Bagmati Province”.
What You Can Search
The search feature covers all administrative divisions:- Provinces - All 7 provinces of Nepal
- Districts - All districts across all provinces
- Municipalities - All municipalities, including metropolitan cities, sub-metropolitan cities, municipalities, and rural municipalities
Autocomplete Suggestions
The autocomplete feature provides quick access to relevant results:- Displays up to 5 matching suggestions
- Shows the division type (province, district, or municipality) next to each result
- Updates dynamically as you type
- Click any suggestion to select it

Search results are organized by division type, with each result showing relevant information:Province Results
When a province matches your search:- Province name and total number of districts
- Area in square kilometers
- Official website link
- Administrative headquarter
- Interactive district selector - Dropdown menu to explore districts within the province
- Selecting a district reveals its complete information including all municipalities
District Results
When a district matches your search:- District name and parent province
- Area in square kilometers
- Official website link
- Administrative headquarter
- Total number of municipalities
- Interactive municipality selector - Dropdown menu to explore municipalities within the district
- Selecting a municipality shows its detailed information
Municipality Results
When a municipality matches your search:- Municipality name
- Parent district and province
- Area in square kilometers
- Official website link
- Complete list of administrative wards

When you find a province or district, you can explore its subdivisions without leaving the search results:- Province results include a dropdown to select and view any district

- Details appear inline below the dropdown when you make a selection
