Overview

Taskflow includes a powerful search feature that helps you quickly locate specific tasks by name. The search works in real-time as you type, instantly filtering your task list.

How to Search for Tasks

1

Locate the Search Input

Find the Buscar tarea (Search task) input field below the task creation form. It’s a full-width text box that spans across the main content area.
2

Start Typing

Click on the search field and begin typing any part of the task name you’re looking for. You don’t need to press Enter or click a search button.
3

View Results Instantly

As you type, Taskflow automatically filters your tasks in real-time. Tasks that match your search will remain visible, while non-matching tasks are hidden.
4

Clear the Search

To return to viewing all tasks, simply delete your search text or clear the search field. All tasks will reappear immediately.

How Search Works

What Gets Searched

The search function looks through task names only. It searches the main text of each task but does not search:
  • Categories
  • Priority levels
  • Completion status
The search is case-insensitive, so searching for “ejercicio”, “Ejercicio”, or “EJERCICIO” will all find the same results.

Real-Time Filtering

Unlike traditional search that requires clicking a button:
  • Results appear instantly as you type each character
  • Tasks are filtered dynamically without page reloads
  • You can see matches update with every keystroke

Partial Matches

The search finds tasks containing your search term anywhere in the task name:
  • Searching “hacer” will find “Hacer ejercicio”
  • Searching “ejercicio” will find “Hacer ejercicio
  • Searching “cer eje” will find “Hacer ejercicio”
You don’t need to type the complete task name. Even a few characters can help you quickly narrow down your task list.

Search Tips and Tricks

Quick Navigation

  • Use just 2-3 characters to quickly filter a long task list
  • Start with unique words to find specific tasks faster
  • Clear the search frequently to regain context of all your tasks

Combined with Filters

Search works independently from sidebar filters:
  • You can filter by priority level AND search at the same time
  • This helps you find specific tasks within a priority category
  • Example: Filter for “Prioridad Alta” then search for “reunión” to find high-priority meeting tasks

Common Use Cases

  • Finding a specific task: Type a unique word from the task name
  • Viewing related tasks: Search for a common keyword (e.g., “proyecto” to see all project-related tasks)
  • Quick checking: Search to verify if you’ve already added a task
If your search returns no results, all tasks will be hidden. This means no task names match your search term. Try using fewer or different characters.

Search Behavior

  • Search respects your current filter selection (if you’re filtering by priority)
  • Search text is temporary - refreshing the page clears the search
  • Completed tasks can still be found using search
  • Tasks remain in their priority sections even when filtered by search
