Getting Started with EduMate

EduMate provides a secure authentication system to protect your assessment data and ensure only you can access your generated content.

Creating Your Account

Navigate to Sign Up

Visit the EduMate signup page and click on “Create Account” or “Sign Up”.

Enter Your Information

Fill in the registration form with:
  • Full Name: Your complete name (e.g., “Professor John Smith”)
  • Email Address: Your institutional or personal email (e.g., “[email protected]”)
  • Password: A secure password with at least 8 characters
Your password must be at least 8 characters long. Choose a strong, unique password to protect your account.

Submit Registration

Click the “Create Account” button to submit your registration.

Confirmation

Upon successful registration, you’ll see a confirmation message and be automatically redirected to the login page within 2 seconds.
If an account with your email already exists, you’ll receive an error message. Try logging in instead or use a different email address.

Signing In

Once you have an account, signing in is straightforward:

Go to Login Page

Navigate to the EduMate login page.

Enter Credentials

Provide your:
  • Email: The email address you used during registration
  • Password: Your account password
Use the eye icon next to the password field to toggle password visibility if you need to verify what you’re typing.

Sign In

Click the “Sign In” button. The system will:
  • Validate your credentials
  • Generate a secure access token
  • Fetch your profile information
  • Redirect you to the dashboard

Login Troubleshooting

If you see an error message:
  • “Incorrect email or password”: Double-check your email and password for typos
  • Connection errors: Verify your internet connection and try again
  • Account not found: Make sure you’ve completed the signup process

Resetting Your Password

Forgot your password? No problem.

Access Password Reset

On the login page, click the “Forgot Password?” link located next to the password field.

Enter Your Email

Provide the email address associated with your EduMate account and click “Continue”.
For security reasons, the system won’t confirm whether the email exists in our database. If your email is registered, you’ll receive reset instructions.

Create New Password

After the system processes your request:
  • Enter your new password
  • Confirm the new password by entering it again
  • Ensure both entries match
Your new password must be at least 8 characters long, just like during initial signup.

Complete Reset

Click “Reset Password” to finalize the change. You’ll see a success message confirming your password has been updated.

Sign In

Use the “Back to Sign In” link to return to the login page and access your account with your new password.

Security Best Practices

Strong Passwords

Use a unique password that’s at least 8 characters long and includes a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.

Keep Credentials Private

Never share your password with anyone. EduMate staff will never ask for your password.

Sign Out When Done

Always sign out when using shared or public computers to protect your account.

Update Regularly

Consider updating your password periodically to maintain account security.

Session Management

EduMate uses secure token-based authentication:
  • Your session remains active as long as your access token is valid
  • You can sign out at any time using the “Sign Out” button in the sidebar
  • Signing out will clear your session and require you to log in again
Your authentication token is stored securely and used for all API requests. This ensures your data remains protected throughout your session.
