How to verify I-Bus compatibility
Your BMW has I-Bus if it was manufactured during the years listed above for your specific model. The I-Bus system is identified by:- A round diagnostic port (20-pin) typically located under the hood
- Factory equipment like navigation, multi-function steering wheel, or on-board computer
- CD changer preparation wiring (even if no CD changer is installed)
If your vehicle has a CD changer installed, you’ll need to remove it as BlueBus emulates the CD changer on the I-Bus.
