Overview

The medical data form collects 11 key health parameters that are analyzed to provide personalized health insights, risk assessments, and tailored recommendations.
Important: All fields are required. Ensure your measurements are accurate and recent for the most reliable health analysis.

Accessing the Medical Form

Once logged in, navigate to the CHEQUEO MEDICO (Medical Checkup) section. You’ll see the tagline: “MEDIGUIDE OFRECE GUIAS MEDICAS EN BASE A LA SALUD DE NUESTROS USUARIOS” (MediGuide offers medical guidance based on our users’ health).

Glucose Level (Nivel de Glucosa)

Unit: mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter)Field Type: Number inputValid Range: 0 - 999 mg/dLWhat it measures: Blood sugar concentrationTips for accurate measurement:
  • Best measured in the morning before eating (fasting glucose)
  • Use a glucose meter for accurate readings

  • 100-125: Prediabetes range
  • Above 125: Diabetes range

Blood Oxygen Saturation (Oxigenación de la sangre)

  • Use a pulse oximeter on your fingertip
  • Ensure clean, warm fingers

  • Below 75%: Critical hypoxemia - emergency situation
  • 95-100%: Normal range

Systolic Blood Pressure (Presión Arterial Sistólica)

  • Rest for 5 minutes before measuring
  • Sit with back supported, feet flat on floor
  • Use proper cuff size on bare arm

  • Less than 120: Normal
  • 120-129: Elevated
  • 130-139: Hypertension Stage 1
  • 140-179: Hypertension Stage 2
  • 180+: Hypertensive crisis - seek emergency care

Diastolic Blood Pressure (Presión Arterial Diastólica)

  • Measured simultaneously with systolic pressure
  • Same positioning and preparation as systolic

  • 120+: Hypertensive crisis - seek emergency care

Body Temperature (Temperatura Corporal)

  • 41°C+: Dangerous hyperthermia - emergency

Respiratory Rate (Frecuencia Respiratoria)

  • Count breaths while at rest
  • Count for 30 seconds and multiply by 2
  • One breath = one complete inhale and exhale
  • Normal range is 12-20 resp/min for adults

  • Below 12: Bradypnea (slow breathing)
  • 12-20: Normal range for adults
  • Above 20: Tachypnea (rapid breathing)

Heart Rate (Frecuencia Cardíaca)

  • Measure at rest, sitting comfortably
  • Find pulse at wrist or neck
  • Count for 30 seconds and multiply by 2
  • Use heart rate monitor or fitness tracker for accuracy
  • Normal resting range is 60-100 bpm for adults
Clinical Significance:
  • Below 60: Bradycardia (normal for athletes)
  • 60-100: Normal resting heart rate
  • Above 100: Tachycardia (elevated heart rate)

Submitting Your Data

Once all 11 fields are completed:
  1. Review Your Entries: Double-check all values for accuracy
  2. Click “Guardar Información” (Save Information)
  3. Wait for Confirmation: The button shows “Guardando…” (Saving) during processing
  4. Success Message: You’ll see “¡Información guardada exitosamente!” (Information saved successfully)
  5. Automatic Analysis: Your data is immediately analyzed for health insights
After successful submission, the form clears and your health analysis is automatically updated.

Understanding Form Validation

All fields include built-in validation:
  • Required Fields: Cannot submit with empty fields
  • Range Limits: Values outside the valid range are rejected
  • Decimal Precision: Some fields allow decimals for accuracy
  • Select Validation: Blood type must be selected from dropdown

Error Messages

  • Success: “¡Información guardada exitosamente!” (green background)
  • Server Error: “Error: [error details]” (red background)
  • Connection Error: “Error de conexión: [error message]” (red background)

BMI Calculation

MediGuide automatically calculates your Body Mass Index (BMI) from your height and weight: Formula: BMI = Weight (kg) / [Height (m)]² Categories:
  • Below 18.5: Underweight (BAJO PESO)
  • 18.5-24.9: Normal weight (PESO NORMAL)
  • 25-29.9: Overweight (SOBREPESO)
  • 30+: Obesity (OBESIDAD)

Data Storage and Privacy

  • User Association: All data is linked to your user ID
  • Timestamped: Each entry records the date and time
  • Historical Tracking: Previous entries are preserved
  • Latest Data: The system displays your most recent submission
  • Secure Storage: Data is stored securely in the database

After Data Submission

Once your data is saved, MediGuide automatically:
  1. Analyzes Parameters: Compares your values against clinical ranges
  2. Identifies Risks: Detects parameters outside normal ranges
  3. Generates Symptoms: Lists possible symptoms for detected conditions
  4. Creates Plans: Develops personalized health improvement plans
  5. Updates Dashboard: Refreshes your health plan display

Technical Details

The medical data submission:
  • Endpoint: /api/medical-info (POST request)
  • Content Type: JSON
  • Includes: All 11 parameters + userId
  • Response: Success message with record ID
  • Triggers: Health plan refresh via event emitter

Troubleshooting

Ensure all 11 fields are filled out. Check that numeric values are within the specified ranges.
Connection errors preserve your data, but validation errors may require re-entry. Consider copying values before submitting.
For chronic conditions: daily or as recommended by your doctor. For general health: weekly or monthly. Always enter new data when you notice significant changes.
Currently, the system stores historical data but the form always creates a new entry. The health analysis always uses your most recent submission.
