SubWallet Extension provides a comprehensive NFT management interface where you can view your NFT collections, import custom NFTs, and send NFTs to other addresses.

Viewing Your NFTs

1

Open the NFTs tab

From the SubWallet home screen, click on the NFTs tab. This displays all NFT collections in your wallet.
2

Browse your collections

Your NFTs are organized by collection. Each collection card shows:
  • Collection name
  • Collection image (or the image from one of the NFTs if no collection image is available)
  • Number of items in the collection
Use the search bar at the top to quickly find specific collections by name or collection ID.
3

View collection details

Click on any collection to see all NFTs within that collection.
4

View individual NFT details

Click on a specific NFT to view:
  • NFT image or media
  • NFT name and ID
  • Collection information
  • Blockchain network
  • Properties and attributes (if available)
  • Send and external link options

Refreshing NFT Data

SubWallet automatically loads your NFTs, but you can manually refresh the data:
1

Click the refresh button

In the NFTs tab, click the refresh icon (circular arrow) in the top-right corner.
2

Wait for the reload

A “Reloading” notification will appear. SubWallet will fetch the latest NFT data from the blockchain.
Refreshing NFT data can take a few moments, especially if you have many NFTs across multiple chains.

Importing Custom NFTs

If an NFT doesn’t appear automatically, you can manually import it:
1

Access the import screen

In the NFTs tab, click the + icon in the top-right corner, or navigate to Settings > Manage Tokens > Import NFT.
2

Select the blockchain network

Choose the network where the NFT exists:
  • Ethereum
  • Polygon
  • Kusama
  • Polkadot
  • And other supported NFT chains
3

Enter the contract address

Paste the NFT contract address. For EVM chains, this is the smart contract address of the NFT collection.
You can find the contract address on NFT marketplaces like OpenSea, or blockchain explorers like Etherscan.
4

Enter the token ID

Input the specific Token ID of the NFT you want to import. This is the unique identifier for that NFT within the collection.
5

Import the NFT

Click Import and wait for SubWallet to fetch the NFT data. Once loaded, the NFT will appear in your collections.
SubWallet supports importing NFTs from both ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards on EVM chains, as well as native NFTs on Substrate chains.

Sending NFTs

To transfer an NFT to another address:
1

Select the NFT

Navigate to the NFT you want to send and click on it to open the details view.
2

Click the Send button

In the NFT detail screen, click the Send button.
3

Choose the sender account

If you have multiple accounts, select which account owns the NFT and will sign the transaction.
4

Enter the recipient address

Type or paste the recipient’s address. You can also:
  • Scan a QR code
  • Select from your address book
  • Choose from recent recipients
Ensure the recipient address is correct. NFT transfers are irreversible.
5

Review the transaction fee

Check the estimated gas/transaction fee. For NFTs, you’ll pay the fee in the chain’s native token (e.g., ETH for Ethereum NFTs).
6

Submit the transaction

Click Transfer to proceed. Review the transaction details in the confirmation popup.
7

Sign and send

Enter your password to sign the transaction. Once confirmed on the blockchain, the NFT will be removed from your wallet and appear in the recipient’s wallet.

Understanding NFT Display

Collection View

The NFT collections screen groups NFTs by their collection. This makes it easy to:
  • See how many NFTs you have in each collection
  • Browse collections across multiple chains
  • Quickly identify valuable collections

Grid Layout

NFTs are displayed in a responsive grid layout that:
  • Shows NFT images as thumbnails
  • Adapts to your screen size
  • Displays the collection name and item count

Fallback Images

If a collection doesn’t have a designated image:
  • SubWallet uses the image from one of the NFTs in the collection
  • If no images are available, a placeholder icon is shown

NFT Metadata

When viewing an NFT, SubWallet displays metadata including:
  • Image/Media: The visual representation of the NFT
  • Name: The NFT’s name as defined in the metadata
  • Description: Additional details about the NFT
  • Properties: Attributes and traits (common for PFP collections)
  • Collection Info: Parent collection name and details
NFT metadata is typically stored on IPFS or centralized servers. If metadata isn’t loading, it may be due to the storage provider being temporarily unavailable.

Cross-Chain NFT Support

SubWallet supports NFTs on multiple blockchain networks:

EVM-Compatible Chains

  • Ethereum
  • Polygon
  • BNB Smart Chain
  • Moonbeam
  • Moonriver
  • And other EVM chains

Substrate Chains

  • Polkadot (AssetHub)
  • Kusama (AssetHub)
  • Unique Network
  • Acala
  • Other Substrate-based chains with NFT pallets

Troubleshooting

If an NFT you own isn’t showing:
  1. Click the refresh button to reload NFT data
  2. Try manually importing the NFT using the contract address and token ID
  3. Verify you’re looking at the correct account
  4. Ensure the NFT’s blockchain is supported and active in SubWallet
  5. Check if the NFT is on a different network than expected
If an NFT image isn’t displaying:
  • The metadata server may be temporarily down
  • The IPFS gateway may be slow (refresh the page)
  • The NFT may not have image metadata
  • Check your internet connection
Try refreshing the NFT or checking the NFT on a blockchain explorer to see if it’s a widespread issue.
If you’re unable to send an NFT:
  • Ensure you have enough native tokens for gas fees
  • Verify you’re using the correct account that owns the NFT
  • Check if the NFT is locked in a staking contract or other protocol
  • Some NFTs may have transfer restrictions (soulbound tokens)
When importing an NFT:
  • Verify the contract address is correct
  • Ensure you’ve selected the right blockchain network
  • Check that the contract address is for an NFT collection, not a regular token
  • Verify the token ID exists in that collection
This is normal behavior:
  • Once sent, the NFT is removed from your wallet
  • Check the transaction in the History tab to confirm it was sent
  • Use a blockchain explorer to verify the NFT arrived at the recipient’s address
  • If you sent to the wrong address, the NFT cannot be recovered unless the recipient sends it back

Best Practices

  • Keep track of your NFT contract addresses and token IDs for easy re-importing if needed
  • Before buying NFTs, ensure the collection’s blockchain is supported by SubWallet
  • When sending valuable NFTs, double-check the recipient address
  • Regularly refresh your NFT data to ensure you’re seeing the most up-to-date collection
  • Be cautious of scam or spam NFTs that may appear in your wallet

Advanced Features

Batch NFT Operations

While SubWallet doesn’t currently support batch sending of NFTs, you can:
  • Send multiple NFTs one at a time
  • Use the search function to quickly find NFTs across collections

NFT Marketplaces

To buy, sell, or trade NFTs:
  1. Connect SubWallet to an NFT marketplace (like OpenSea, Rarible, or Singular)
  2. Use the marketplace’s interface to list or purchase NFTs
  3. Approve transactions in SubWallet when prompted

Viewing NFTs on Explorers

From the NFT detail screen, click the external link icon to:
  • View the NFT on a blockchain explorer
  • See the full transaction history
  • Verify authenticity and provenance

Security Considerations

  • Be cautious of unsolicited NFTs in your wallet (potential scams or phishing)
  • Don’t interact with suspicious NFT contracts
  • Verify collection authenticity before purchasing NFTs
  • Never share your seed phrase or private keys, even if someone claims it’s needed to “verify” an NFT
  • Be aware that clicking on malicious NFT metadata links could be harmful
