The Structural Elements module covers the steel members and connections that make up pressure vessel support structures. It is organized into three sub-features accessible from the Elementos estructurales section of the sidebar.

Beams (Vigas)

Structural beam analysis for support frames. Route: /vigas-analisis. Currently under construction — subscribe on the page for launch notifications.

Weld Analysis

Analyze weld configurations and review results for structural connections. Route: /soldadura-analisis.

Weld Design

Design weld joints for pressure vessel attachments and support connections. Route: /soldadura-diseno.

Beam Analysis

The Beam Analysis page (/vigas-analisis) is currently under construction. The page displays a Próximamente (Coming Soon) screen with a countdown timer set approximately 29 days from the current date.
Beam analysis is not yet available. Enter your email on the /vigas-analisis page to receive a notification when the feature launches.
When complete, this module will support analysis of structural beams used in horizontal saddle frames, vertical leg bracing, and platform structures attached to pressure vessels.

Structural Profiles

When leg-type supports include bracing members, PSI supports the following standard structural profiles:

Profile selection affects member capacity checks for axial load, bending, and combined loading per the applicable code.

Braced Leg Configurations

For leg-supported vessels, brace members connect between the legs to resist lateral loads from wind and seismic events. The bracing layout — X-brace, K-brace, or diagonal — is configured in the Support Design page when the Legs support type is selected. The brace profile designation (e.g., L2x2x1/4 for a 2 × 2 × 1/4 inch angle) sets the section properties used in the capacity calculations.

Weld Analysis and Weld Design

The weld modules are covered in detail on the Weld Design page. Both routes (/soldadura-analisis and /soldadura-diseno) are part of this structural elements group and are currently showing coming-soon screens as the full structural expansion is built out.
