Your profile in Babel stores your display name, email address, and login credentials. You can update this information at any time from the Profile page. To reach your profile, navigate to /profile in the sidebar or app menu.

Update profile information

The top section of the profile page lets you change your display name and email address.
1

Open the profile page

Navigate to Profile from the main navigation. The page loads your current name and email address pre-filled in the form.
2

Edit your name or email

Click into the Name or Email field and make your changes.
FieldTypeRequired
NameTextYes
EmailEmail addressYes
3

Save your changes

Click Save changes. A success notification confirms that your profile has been updated.
Changing your email address updates the address used to log in to Babel. If you change your email, use the new address the next time you sign in. Make sure the new address is one you control and can access.

Change your password

Password changes are handled on a dedicated sub-page at /profile/password. You must provide your current password to set a new one.
1

Go to the change password page

From the Profile page, click Change password (or navigate directly to /profile/password).
2

Enter your current password

Fill in the Current password field. This confirms your identity before allowing a password change.
3

Enter and confirm a new password

Fill in the New password and Confirm new password fields. Both fields must match exactly.
FieldTypeRequired
Current passwordPasswordYes
New passwordPasswordYes
Confirm new passwordPasswordYes
4

Submit the form

Click Change password. If the current password is correct and both new password fields match, your password is updated immediately.
You must provide your current password to change it. If you have forgotten your current password, use the password reset flow on the login page instead of this form. There is no way to bypass the current password requirement from this page.

Frequently asked questions

No. Email addresses must be unique across all Babel accounts. If you try to save an email that is already registered to another user, you will see a validation error. Choose a different address or contact your administrator.
Your password must be at least 8 characters long. Beyond the minimum, choose a password that is hard to guess — use a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. A password manager is a good way to generate and store strong passwords.
Go back to the Babel login page and use the Forgot password link to start the reset flow. You will receive an email with a reset link. Once reset, come back to the profile page to set a password you prefer.
Yes — your display name on tasks and project activity will reflect your updated name going forward. Existing records that stored your name as a plain string at the time of assignment may retain the old name in historical data.
Yes. Your Babel profile is account-wide. Name, email, and password changes apply across every project you are a member of.
