For Tourists

Step 1: Create Your Account

Navigate to Registration

Visit the Kin Conecta homepage and click Registrarse (Sign Up) in the top navigation.

Select Tourist Role

Choose Turista from the role selection screen. This unlocks features for browsing guides and booking tours.

Complete Your Profile

Fill in your registration details:
  • Full name: Your complete name
  • Date of birth: Required for age verification
  • Country code: Select your phone’s country code (e.g., +52 for Mexico)
  • Phone number: 10-digit mobile number
  • Email: Your primary email address
  • Password: Minimum 8 characters
Make sure your email is valid - you’ll need it to verify your account and receive booking confirmations.

Step 2: Set Up Your Tourist Profile

Once registered, enhance your profile to get better tour recommendations:
Tell us what kind of traveler you are:
  • Travel Style: Cultural, Gastronomic, Adventure, Nature, Historical
  • Activity Level: Low, Moderate, or High intensity
  • Group Preference: Solo, couples, small groups, or large groups
  • Planning Level: How much detail you prefer in itineraries
  • Select languages you speak (Spanish, English, French, German, Italian)
  • Choose your interests: Culture, Gastronomy, Adventure, Nature, Photography
  • Add dietary preferences if applicable
Upload a profile photo to personalize your account. This helps guides recognize you during tours.

Step 3: Find Your Perfect Tour

Browse the Explore Page

Navigate to Explorar from your dashboard sidebar. Here you’ll find:
  • Featured destinations across Mexico
  • Top-rated guides and tours
  • Search functionality by destination, guide, or activity type
  • Category filters: Gastronomía, Aventura, Historia, Cultura

Search and Filter

Use the search bar to find specific experiences:
Search examples:
- "cenotes Puerto Morelos"
- "food tour Guadalajara"
- "historic center CDMX"
- "colonial architecture Mérida"
Filter results by categories to narrow down options.

Review Tour Details

Click on any tour to view:
  • Duration: Typical tours run 4 hours
  • Price: Listed in MXN (Mexican Pesos)
  • Group size: Maximum number of participants
  • Meeting point: Where the tour starts
  • Included items: What’s provided (guide, entrance fees, tastings, equipment)
  • Guide profile: Experience level, languages, certifications, ratings

Check Guide Compatibility

Review the guide’s profile:
  • Rating: Average from previous tourists
  • Reviews: Read experiences from other travelers
  • Tour style: Intensity level, group dynamics, pace
  • Languages: Communication options
  • Certifications: Professional qualifications
  • Adaptations: Special accommodations offered

Step 4: Book Your Experience

Select Date and Time

Choose your preferred booking date. The system will show available time slots based on the guide’s calendar.
Tours are booked in 4-hour blocks. Plan accordingly for travel time to the meeting point.

Add Special Notes

Include any special requests or requirements:
  • Dietary restrictions (gluten-free, vegetarian, allergies)
  • Mobility considerations
  • Specific interests to prioritize
  • Group composition details

Review and Confirm

Double-check your booking details:
  • Tour name and guide
  • Date, time, and meeting point
  • Total price and included items
  • Cancellation policy
Submit your booking request. The status will be pending until the guide confirms.

Wait for Confirmation

You’ll receive a notification when the guide:
  • Confirms your booking (status: confirmed)
  • Requests changes to date/time (status: change_requested)
  • Declines due to unavailability
Most guides respond within 1-3 hours during business hours.

Step 5: Communicate and Prepare

Once confirmed, you can:
  • Message your guide directly through the chat system
  • Ask questions about what to bring, wear, or expect
  • Coordinate pickup details if applicable
  • View the meeting point on your trip details

Step 6: Enjoy Your Tour

On tour day:
  1. Arrive at the meeting point 5-10 minutes early
  2. Look for your guide (their profile photo is in your booking)
  3. Introduce yourself and confirm the itinerary
  4. Enjoy your authentic local experience!

Step 7: Leave a Review

After your tour:

Rate Your Experience

Navigate to Mis Viajes (My Trips) and select the completed tour. Rate your experience from 1-5 stars.

Write a Review

Share your thoughts to help other tourists:
  • What you loved about the experience
  • How the guide performed
  • Accuracy of the tour description
  • Value for money
Detailed reviews help guides improve and assist other tourists in making informed decisions.

For Guides

Step 1: Create Your Guide Account

Navigate to Registration

Visit the Kin Conecta homepage and click Registrarse (Sign Up).

Select Guide Role

Choose Guía from the role selection screen. This gives you access to tour management and booking tools.

Complete Registration

Provide your personal information:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Country code and phone number
  • Email address
  • Secure password (minimum 8 characters)

Step 2: Build Your Guide Profile

Your profile is your storefront - make it compelling!
Complete your professional details:
  • Summary: Brief introduction (50-100 words)
  • Story: Your background and guiding philosophy (200+ words)
  • Status text: Current availability (e.g., “Available this week”, “Booking 2 weeks ahead”)
  • Hourly rate: Your base rate in MXN
  • Experience level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Senior
Define your tour style:
  • Tour intensity: Low (relaxed), Moderate, or High (active)
  • Group size: Preferred number of participants (e.g., “2-6 people”, “4-10 people”)
  • Tour style: Your guiding approach (e.g., “Historical narrative with photo stops”)
  • Transport offered: Walking, metro, van, private vehicle
  • Photo style: Architecture, food, portraits, nature, street photography
  • Add all languages you speak fluently
  • Select expertise areas:
    • Local History
    • Gastronomy Tours
    • Colonial Architecture
    • Urban Art
    • Nature & Cenotes
    • Cultural Experiences
  • Locations: Cities and areas where you guide
  • Certifications: Professional credentials (e.g., “Certified Cultural Guide CDMX”, “Food Safety Certification”, “First Aid Certified”)
  • Adaptations: Special accommodations you offer (e.g., “Flexible pace for seniors”, “Vegetarian options”, “Bilingual support”)
Upload high-quality images:
  • Profile photo: Professional headshot showing your face clearly
  • Cover photo: Showcase your best tour moments or destinations
  • Tour photos: Images of locations, food, or experiences you offer
High-quality photos increase your booking rate by up to 70%. Use natural lighting and show authentic moments.

Step 3: Create Your First Tour

Access Tour Management

From your guide dashboard, navigate to Tours in the sidebar and click Create New Tour.

Fill in the essential details:
Title: "Historic Center and Museums Walk"
Category: Historia y cultura
Description: Detailed tour description including highlights, 
             what makes it unique, and what tourists will learn
Duration: 4.0 hours
Max group size: 8 people

Pricing and Logistics

Set your tour parameters:
  • Price: Total tour price in MXN (not per person - clarify in description)
  • Currency: MXN (Mexican Peso)
  • Meeting point: Specific, easy-to-find location (e.g., “Palacio de Bellas Artes main entrance”)
  • Cover image: Eye-catching photo representing the tour

List everything included in the tour price:
- Bilingual guide service
- Basic entrance fees to 2 museums
- Printed historical timeline
- Water and snacks

Select Destinations

Link your tour to destination(s):
  • Choose from existing destinations in the system
  • Multiple destinations can be selected for multi-city tours
  • This helps tourists find your tour when searching by location

Set Tour Status

Choose your tour status:
  • Draft: Not visible to tourists (work in progress)
  • Pending: Submitted for review (if platform requires approval)
  • Active: Live and bookable by tourists
  • Inactive: Temporarily unavailable
Start with “Draft” to review everything before making it live. You can activate it later.

Step 4: Manage Your Calendar

Keep your availability up to date:

Open Calendar View

Navigate to Calendario in your dashboard sidebar.

Block Unavailable Times

Mark dates when you’re unavailable:
  • Personal time off
  • Other commitments
  • Fully booked days
This prevents double-booking and sets tourist expectations.

Review Booking Requests

When tourists book your tours:
  • You’ll receive a notification
  • Review the booking details and tourist profile
  • Check for any special requests in the notes
  • Confirm or request changes within 24 hours

Step 5: Communicate with Tourists

Respond to Messages

Tourists can message you before and after booking. Quick responses improve your rating and booking rate.
Guides who respond within 1 hour have 3x higher confirmation rates.

Confirm Tour Details

Before the tour, clarify:
  • Exact meeting time and location
  • What to bring (comfortable shoes, hat, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Any special considerations
  • Weather contingencies

Step 6: Deliver Amazing Tours

On tour day:
  1. Arrive early at the meeting point
  2. Greet your tourists warmly and confirm the group
  3. Set expectations for the tour (duration, stops, pace)
  4. Engage actively with storytelling and local insights
  5. Be flexible to group needs and interests
  6. Encourage questions and interaction
  7. End professionally with recommendations for their continued journey

Step 7: Manage Post-Tour

After each tour:

Update Trip Status

Mark the trip as completed in your dashboard. This triggers:
  • Payment processing (if integrated)
  • Tourist review request
  • Trip appears in your history

Request and Respond to Reviews

  • Encourage tourists to leave reviews
  • Respond to reviews (especially constructive feedback)
  • Use feedback to improve future tours
Your average rating and review count directly impact your visibility in search results.

Track Your Performance

Monitor your guide dashboard:
  • Rating average: Keep above 4.5 stars
  • Reviews count: More reviews = more trust
  • Bookings count: Track your growth
  • Response time: Aim for under 2 hours

Step 8: Grow Your Business

Update Your Tours

Refresh tour descriptions seasonally, add new tours, and retire underperforming ones

Expand Your Expertise

Add new certifications, learn new languages, and explore new destinations

Engage with Tourists

Build relationships, encourage repeat bookings, and ask for referrals

Monitor Finances

Track your income, withdrawal requests, and booking trends
