How to Share Records

Aria offers multiple ways to share your medical information securely.

Share Individual Records

Share specific prescriptions or documents:

Select the Record

Open the prescription, lab report, or document you want to share

Tap Share

Click the share icon in the top right corner

Choose Sharing Method

Select how you want to share:
  • Direct share to another Aria user
  • WhatsApp for instant messaging
  • Email for email delivery
  • Download PDF to save and share manually
  • Generate Link for web access

Confirm and Send

Review what you’re sharing and tap Send

Share Multiple Records

Create a custom collection of records to share:

Navigate to Share Center

Tap Share from the main menu

Select Records

Choose multiple prescriptions, lab reports, or documents to include

Add Recipient

Enter the healthcare provider’s email or ABHA ID, or select a family member

Set Access Duration

Choose how long the recipient can access these records (24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, or permanent)

Send Package

Review your selection and send the complete medical record package
Create Health Summaries - For new doctor visits, select your most recent prescriptions, relevant lab reports, and important imaging results to give a comprehensive overview.

Sharing with Healthcare Providers

Different sharing options for different healthcare scenarios.

Share via ABHA ID

If the healthcare provider is on the ABDM network:

Request Provider's ABHA ID

Ask the doctor or hospital for their ABHA healthcare professional ID

Share Directly

In Aria, enter the ABHA ID and select records to share

Instant Access

The provider can access your records immediately through the ABDM network
ABDM Network - ABHA-linked sharing ensures your records are accessible across India’s national digital health ecosystem, connecting hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers.

Share via QR Code

For in-person consultations:

Generate QR Code

In the share menu, select Generate QR Code for the records you want to share

Show to Provider

Display the QR code on your phone screen

Doctor Scans Code

The healthcare provider scans the code with their Aria Doctor app or ABDM-compatible system

Instant Access

Your selected medical records appear in their system immediately
QR codes are time-limited and expire after the consultation for your security. You can regenerate them anytime.
For remote consultations or telemedicine:

Create Secure Link

Select records and choose Generate Link from share options

Set Access Controls

Configure link expiration (1 day to 30 days) and password protection if desired

Copy and Send

Copy the secure link and send it via email, WhatsApp, or messaging app

Recipient Views Online

The healthcare provider clicks the link to view your records in a web browser

Sharing with Family Members

Grant family members or caregivers access to help manage your healthcare.

Add a Caregiver

Go to Settings

Tap Settings > Family & Caregivers

Add Caregiver

Tap Add Caregiver and enter their name, phone number, or email

Set Permissions

Choose what they can access:
  • View only - See your records but can’t share them
  • View and share - Access and share records on your behalf
  • Full access - Manage your account including uploading records

Send Invitation

The caregiver receives an invitation to access your medical records through Aria
For Elderly Parents or Dependents - Add yourself as a caregiver to their Aria account to help manage appointments, medications, and medical records.

What Information is Shared

Understand exactly what’s included when you share medical records.

Prescription Sharing Includes

  • Diagnosis - The condition being treated
  • Medications - All prescribed medications with dosages and instructions
  • Doctor Information - Prescribing physician’s name and credentials
  • Date and Time - When the prescription was created
  • Patient Details - Your name, age, and ABHA ID (if applicable)

Lab Report Sharing Includes

  • Test Results - All lab values and measurements
  • Reference Ranges - Normal ranges for comparison
  • Test Date - When the sample was collected and analyzed
  • Laboratory Information - Name and accreditation of the testing facility
  • Ordering Physician - Doctor who requested the tests

Document Sharing Includes

  • Original Document - High-quality scan or photo
  • Document Metadata - Date, type, and description
  • Upload Information - When and by whom it was added to your records
Selective Sharing - You can choose to share specific information while keeping other records private. For example, share only relevant prescriptions with a specialist without sharing your entire medical history.

Go to Settings > Shared Access or Privacy > Access Log

Tap Revoke Access to immediately remove someone’s access to your records

All shares can be set to expire automatically:
  • 24 Hours - For single consultations or emergency access
  • 1 Week - For ongoing treatment or specialist consultations
  • 1 Month - For extended care coordination
  • Permanent - For trusted caregivers or family members
Best Practice - Use the shortest access duration necessary. You can always extend or re-share if needed.

Revoke Access Anytime

You can instantly revoke shared access:
  • Remove access to specific records
  • Revoke all access for a specific person
  • Expire links immediately
  • Disable QR codes

Sharing During Emergencies

Recipient Can’t Access Shared Records

  • Verify the email address or ABHA ID is correct
  • Check that the share hasn’t expired
  • Ensure the recipient has internet connectivity
  • Try generating a new share link
  • Contact Aria support if issues persist
  • Check if the link has expired
  • Verify the link was copied completely
  • Try opening in a different browser
  • Generate a new link and try again

QR Code Won’t Scan

  • Increase screen brightness
  • Hold phone steady and ensure QR code is fully visible
  • Check that the recipient’s scanner is working
  • Try generating a new QR code
