Polar supports sellers and customers in over 100 countries worldwide through our partnership with Stripe. This page details which countries are supported and what features are available.

Seller Support (Stripe Connect)

The following countries are supported for sellers creating financial accounts on Polar. You can create a Stripe Connect account and receive payouts if you’re based in:

Customers can purchase from anywhere in the world that Stripe supports payments, which includes:

  • Additional countries where Stripe processes payments

Payment Methods

Supported payment methods vary by country but generally include:
  • Credit/Debit Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc.

Tax ID Support

Polar supports tax ID validation for customers in the following countries:

All EU member states support VAT number validation:

Currency Conversion

  • Automatic conversion between customer and seller currencies
  • Exchange rates provided by Stripe
  • Typical spread: ~1% above mid-market rate
  • Rate determined at transaction time

Limitations by Country

Restricted Countries

Some countries are not supported due to:
  • US sanctions
  • Banking restrictions
  • Regulatory complexity
