System Requirements

Before installing Aradia, ensure your device meets these requirements:

Android Version

Android 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher

Storage Space

Minimum 50 MB for the app (additional space needed for downloaded audiobooks)

Internet Connection

Required for browsing and streaming (optional for downloaded content)

Permissions

Storage access for downloads, notification access for playback controls
Aradia currently supports Android only. iOS support is not available at this time.

Download the APK

Visit the Releases Page

Go to the Aradia GitHub Releases page to download the latest version.
Always download from the official GitHub repository to ensure you’re getting the authentic, safe version of Aradia.

Download the Latest APK

  1. Find the latest release at the top of the page (version 3.0.0 or newer)
  2. Scroll down to the Assets section
  3. Click on the file named aradia-v3.0.0.apk (or similar) to download
The APK file is typically around 40-50 MB in size.

Enable Unknown Sources

Before installing, you need to allow installation from unknown sources:For Android 8.0 and above:
  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Go to Apps & notifications > Advanced > Special app access
  3. Tap Install unknown apps
  4. Select your browser or file manager
  5. Enable Allow from this source
For Android 7.1 and below:
  1. Open Settings on your device
  2. Go to Security or Lock screen and security
  3. Enable Unknown sources
  4. Tap OK to confirm
Only enable “Unknown sources” for trusted apps like Aradia. Remember to disable it after installation for security purposes.

Install the APK

  1. Open your device’s Downloads folder or notification panel
  2. Tap on the downloaded aradia-v3.0.0.apk file
  3. Tap Install when prompted
  4. Wait for the installation to complete (usually takes 10-30 seconds)
  5. Tap Open to launch Aradia, or Done to finish
Installation successful! You should now see the Aradia icon in your app drawer.

First Launch Setup

When you first open Aradia, you’ll need to grant some permissions:
Required for downloading audiobooks to your device.
  • Tap Allow when prompted to grant storage access
  • This permission is necessary to save audiobook files for offline listening
Recommended for playback controls and download notifications.
  • Tap Allow to enable notifications
  • This lets you control playback from the notification shade and lock screen
Recommended for uninterrupted background playback.
  • Allow Aradia to run in the background
  • This ensures audio continues playing when you switch apps or lock your device
After granting permissions, you’re ready to start exploring! The app will load the home screen with featured audiobooks and genre categories.

Updating Aradia

Aradia includes an auto-update checker that notifies you when a new version is available.

Check for Updates

When a new version is released, you’ll see an update prompt on the home screen.

Download the Latest Version

  1. Tap Update in the prompt
  2. You’ll be redirected to the GitHub releases page
  3. Download the latest APK file

Install Over Existing Version

  1. Tap the downloaded APK to install
  2. Tap Update when prompted
  3. Your settings and favorites will be preserved
You don’t need to uninstall the old version first. The new version will install over it automatically.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Android is blocking the installation.Solution:
  • Make sure you’ve enabled “Unknown sources” or “Install unknown apps” for your browser/file manager
  • Try downloading with a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet)
  • Ensure you have enough storage space (at least 100 MB free)
Problem: Aradia crashes on launch or won’t open.Solution:
  • Restart your device
  • Clear the app cache: Settings > Apps > Aradia > Storage > Clear cache
  • Reinstall the app
  • Ensure your Android version is 5.0 or higher
Problem: APK download fails or file is corrupted.Solution:
  • Try downloading again with a stable internet connection
  • Use a different browser
  • Download directly from GitHub instead of third-party sites
  • Check that you have enough storage space
Problem: Can’t download audiobooks or import local files.Solution:
  • Go to Settings > Apps > Aradia > Permissions
  • Enable Storage or Files and media permission
  • Restart the app

Uninstalling Aradia

If you need to uninstall Aradia:
  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Aradia
  2. Tap Uninstall
  3. Confirm the action
Uninstalling will remove all downloaded audiobooks, favorites, and listening history. Make sure to back up any important data before uninstalling.

Alternative Installation Methods

For developers or advanced users, you can install via ADB:
# Enable USB debugging on your device
# Connect your device to your computer

# Install the APK
adb install aradia-v3.0.0.apk

# Or if updating an existing installation
adb install -r aradia-v3.0.0.apk
