How it works

When you drag and drop a video file, gSubs searches for subtitles using a two-tier approach:
  1. SubDB lookup: First, gSubs checks SubDB using the video file’s hash for an exact match
  2. OpenSubtitles search: If no match is found, gSubs performs a deep search on OpenSubtitles using the filename and metadata
This dual-source strategy ensures you get the most accurate subtitle match possible.
For best results, keep your video files named clearly with the movie or episode title.
