Download the installer
Visit the gSubs releases page and download the latest
.exe installer for Windows.The installer uses NSIS and is configured for per-machine installation.Complete installation
Follow the installation wizard prompts. gSubs will be installed and automatically added to your Start menu.

gSubs supports multiple Linux distribution formats. Choose the format that works best for your system.- AppImage

Verify installation
Once installed, verify that gSubs is working correctly:- Launch the application
- You should see the purple gradient interface with the gSubs logo
- The window should display a drag-and-drop zone and a search box
- Check the bottom right for the language selector (defaults to English)
On first launch, gSubs automatically checks for updates. This requires an internet connection.
Auto-updates
gSubs includes an auto-updater powered byelectron-updater. When a new version is available:
- gSubs will automatically download the update in the background
- A notification will appear at the top of the window when the update is ready
- Click “Install Update” to quit and install the new version
- gSubs will restart with the latest version
Troubleshooting
Windows: “Windows protected your PC” warning
This is a SmartScreen warning for unsigned applications. Click “More info” and then “Run anyway” to proceed with installation.macOS: “gSubs can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”
Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, and click “Open Anyway” next to the gSubs warning message.Linux: Permission denied when running AppImage
