This page describes planned features for the Syngenta Warehouse Management System. The application is currently in early development. The dashboard is not yet implemented.

Overview

The Syngenta Warehouse Management System dashboard will be the central hub for warehouse operations. Built with Apple-inspired minimalist design principles and Syngenta’s brand identity, the dashboard will provide intuitive access to all system features while displaying critical information at a glance.
Your dashboard view is customized based on your user role. You’ll only see features and data relevant to your permissions. See User Roles Guide for details.

Dashboard Design Philosophy

The interface combines Syngenta’s brand identity with modern design principles:

Visual Design

  • Syngenta Purple (#702F8A): Primary actions and key elements
  • Syngenta Green (#00A04A): Success states and positive metrics
  • Vibrant Magenta (#E20074): Alerts and important notifications
  • Clean Typography: Clear hierarchy with Inter font family
  • Generous Whitespace: Apple-inspired spacing for reduced visual clutter
  • Smooth Animations: Fluid transitions for better user experience
The system supports both light and dark themes. Press the ‘D’ key to toggle between themes, or use the theme selector in settings.

Header Components

The top navigation bar provides quick access to essential functions: Left Section:
  • Syngenta Logo: Click to return to the main dashboard
  • Warehouse Selector: Switch between warehouse locations (if you have multi-location access)
Center Section:
  • Global Search: Search for products, orders, locations, or any data (keyboard shortcut: / or Cmd/Ctrl + K)
Right Section:
  • Notifications Bell: View alerts, approvals, and system messages
  • Theme Toggle: Switch between light and dark modes
  • User Menu: Access profile, settings, and logout
The search bar uses intelligent indexing to find results across all data you have permission to access. Results appear instantly as you type.

Menu items automatically adapt to your role. You’ll only see sections you have permission to access.
  • Desktop: Sidebar is always visible (can be collapsed for more space)
  • Tablet: Sidebar collapses to icons; expands on hover
  • Mobile: Sidebar hidden by default; accessible via hamburger menu

All charts are interactive. Click on data points for detailed breakdowns, and use the date range selector to adjust the time period.

Quick Actions

Access frequently used functions with quick action buttons:
  • Receive Shipment: Start the receiving process for incoming goods
  • Create Order: Generate a new outbound order
  • Stock Adjustment: Record inventory changes
  • Generate Report: Create and export reports
  • Assign Task: Delegate work to team members (Supervisors+)
Quick actions adapt to your role. You’ll only see actions you’re authorized to perform.

Real-Time Updates

The dashboard uses real-time data synchronization to keep information current:

Live Data Indicators

  • Green dot: Data is current (updated within last 30 seconds)
  • Yellow dot: Data is being synced
  • Gray dot: Offline mode (data cached locally)

Update Notifications

When data changes, you’ll see:
  • Subtle animation on affected widgets
  • Toast notification for critical updates
  • Badge count on navigation items with new data
If you see a “Connection Lost” message, your actions may not save. Restore your internet connection before making critical changes.

Personalizing Your View

Rearrange Widgets

Drag and drop dashboard widgets to reorder them according to your preferences.

Click the dashboard settings icon (⚙️) to select which widgets to display.

Saved Views

Create multiple dashboard configurations for different tasks:
  • Morning Overview: Key metrics and overnight activity
  • Order Processing: Focus on order fulfillment widgets
  • Inventory Management: Stock levels and movement data
  • Reporting View: Analytics and performance metrics
Switch between views using the view selector in the header.

Common Navigation Patterns

Viewing Inventory:
  1. Click Inventory in sidebar
  2. Select Current Stock
  3. Use filters to narrow results (location, category, status)
  4. Click any item for detailed information
  5. Breadcrumbs at top show your path: Dashboard > Inventory > Current Stock > [Item]
Processing an Order:
  1. Click Orders > Incoming Orders
  2. Select an order from the list
  3. Click Process Order button
  4. Follow the step-by-step workflow
  5. Confirm completion
Generating a Report:
  1. Navigate to Reporting
  2. Choose report type
  3. Set date range and filters
  4. Preview report
  5. Export to PDF or Excel
The system remembers your last location. When you log back in, you’ll return to where you left off.

  • Swipe Gestures: Swipe left/right to navigate between sections
  • Barcode Scanner: Native camera access for scanning operations
  • Offline Mode: Continue working without internet, sync when reconnected

Tablet View

  • Two-Column Layout: Balance between mobile and desktop
  • Drawer Navigation: Sidebar slides in from left
  • Chart Interactions: Tap charts for details
  • Split Screen Support: Use alongside other apps
For warehouse floor operations, we recommend using the mobile interface on handheld scanners or tablets for optimal portability.

The dashboard is built with accessibility in mind:

The dashboard is optimized for speed:

  • Optimized Images: All graphics compressed and properly sized
For best performance, use Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge browsers. The system works on older browsers but may have reduced performance.

Dashboard Troubleshooting

  • Refresh the page (Cmd/Ctrl + R)
  • Clear browser cache
  • Check internet connection
  • Try a different browser
  • Contact support if issue persists
