Trackmart supports flexible payment methods to accommodate different preferences. You can choose between mobile money and cash payment when placing your order.

Available Payment Options

Trackmart currently offers two payment methods:

Mobile Money

Pay digitally via mobile money transfer - convenient and secure.

Cash

Pay the driver in cash upon delivery - traditional and straightforward.

Selecting Your Payment Method

You choose your payment method during the order placement process:

Navigate to Request tab

Open the order placement screen in the Request tab.

Configure your order

After selecting your merchant and specifying quantity, you’ll see the payment section.

Choose payment method

  • Locate the payment dropdown (defaults to “Mobile money”)
  • Tap the dropdown to view available options
  • Select either “Mobile money” or “Cash”

Review total amount

The amount displayed shows the total you’ll pay based on quantity and current pricing.

Submit your order

Your payment method selection is saved with your order.
Payment method must be selected before placing your order. You cannot change the payment method after the order is submitted.

Mobile Money Payments

How It Works

When you select mobile money as your payment method:
  1. Select “Mobile money” from the payment dropdown
  2. Place your order as usual
  3. The merchant will receive your order with mobile money payment indicated
  4. Payment is typically processed via mobile money transfer
  5. Confirm payment through your mobile money provider

Benefits of Mobile Money

Convenience

No need to have physical cash on hand - pay directly from your mobile money account.

Security

Avoid carrying large amounts of cash. Transactions are recorded digitally.

Speed

Faster checkout process - no need to count cash or provide change.

Records

Automatic transaction records from your mobile money provider for easy tracking.
Make sure you have sufficient balance in your mobile money account before placing an order with this payment method.

Cash Payments

How It Works

When you select cash as your payment method:
  1. Select “Cash” from the payment dropdown
  2. Note the total amount displayed on the order screen
  3. Place your order
  4. Prepare the cash amount before the driver arrives
  5. Pay the driver directly in cash when they deliver your order
  6. Get a receipt or confirmation from the driver if needed

Cash Payment Tips

Exact Amount

Try to have the exact amount or close to it. Drivers may not always have change for large bills.

Prepare in Advance

Have your cash ready before the driver arrives to speed up the transaction.

Verify Amount

Double-check the total amount shown in your order before the driver arrives.

Request Receipt

Ask the driver for a receipt or confirmation after payment if you need documentation.
Only pay the driver the exact amount shown in your order. If a driver requests additional payment, contact Trackmart support.

Payment Amount Calculation

Understanding how your payment amount is calculated:

Pricing Formula

Total Amount = Quantity × Price per Unit
Example:
  • Quantity: 3 Tonnes
  • Price per Tonne: UGX 50,000
  • Total: UGX 150,000

Real-Time Pricing

Prices are fetched in real-time from Trackmart servers. The price indicator at the bottom of the Request screen shows: “1 [Unit] of [Product] costs UGX [Amount]”
Factors that affect pricing:
  • Selected unit type (Truck vs. Tonne)
  • Current market rates
  • Merchant pricing
The app automatically calculates the total amount as you adjust the quantity. The “Amount payed” field updates in real-time.

Credit Card Payment (Future Feature)

While Trackmart has infrastructure for credit card payments, this feature is not currently active in the production app.
The app includes a credit card payment screen with:
  • Card number entry
  • Expiration date
  • CVV security code
  • Visual card preview
This feature will be enabled in a future update to provide additional payment flexibility.

Trackmart takes payment security seriously:

Order Confirmation

Always confirm order details and payment amount before submitting.

Direct Payment Only

Pay only through official Trackmart payment methods. Never share payment info outside the app.

Transaction Records

All orders are recorded in your account history with payment details.

Support Available

Contact Trackmart support immediately if you experience payment issues.

Changing Payment Methods

You must select your payment method before placing an order. Once an order is submitted, the payment method cannot be changed.
If you need to use a different payment method:
  1. Cancel the current order (if possible based on order status)
  2. Place a new order with your preferred payment method
Or:
  1. Contact the driver via in-app chat
  2. Discuss the possibility of changing payment method
  3. Note that this is at the driver’s discretion

Common Payment Questions

No, you must choose one payment method per order. If you need to split payment, place separate orders.
This can delay your delivery. Always ensure you have sufficient cash ready before the driver arrives. You may be able to arrange mobile money transfer, but this depends on the driver.
Contact Trackmart support through the Help or Contact options in the app menu. Provide your order details and reason for the refund request.
Check with your mobile money provider for any transaction fees they may charge. Trackmart’s displayed price is the total amount you pay.
Currently, payment methods are selected per order. Future updates may include saved payment preferences.
Never share your mobile money PIN, payment passwords, or personal financial information with drivers or anyone claiming to be from Trackmart.
