System requirements

Icarus requires the following to run:
  • Operating system: Windows 10 or later
  • Architecture: x64 (64-bit)
  • WebView2 Runtime: Required for embedded web content (automatically installed with Windows 11, may need manual installation on Windows 10)
If you’re running Windows 10 and encounter issues with embedded content, you may need to install the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime manually.

First launch

When you first launch Icarus, the app will:
  1. Initialize local storage in your application support directory
  2. Set up Hive databases for strategies and folders
  3. Display the main folder navigator interface
You’re now ready to create your first strategy.

Importing existing strategies

If you or your teammates have existing Icarus strategy files (.ica format), you can import them:
  1. Click the Import .ica button in the top toolbar
  2. Select your .ica file from the file picker
  3. The strategy will be loaded and ready to view or edit
The .ica file format is Icarus’s native strategy export format, allowing you to share strategies between computers or with teammates.

Updates

Icarus automatically checks for updates when you launch the app. Updates are delivered through the Microsoft Store, ensuring you always have the latest features and bug fixes. The current version is displayed in the window title: Icarus: Valorant Strategies & Line ups {version}
