The daily planner is your command center for tracking JEE/NEET preparation. It uses a calendar grid interface to help you visualize your tasks, mock tests, and daily commitments.

How it works

The planner displays all your tasks as cards organized by date. Each task card shows the subject, description, and completion status at a glance.
1

Navigate to the planner

Click the Planner button in the sidebar navigation. This view is your default home screen when you open ChaosPrep.
2

Browse your calendar

Use the left/right chevron buttons to change months. Click the Today button in the top-right to instantly jump back to the current date.
3

Add a new task

In the sidebar (desktop) or bottom sheet (mobile), you’ll find the “Quick Add Task” form:
  • Select a date using the date picker
  • Choose your subject from the grid of subject pills (Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology)
  • Enter your task description (e.g., “Solve Rotational Motion numericals”)
  • Click Add to Plan
4

Complete tasks

Click the checkbox on any task card to mark it as done. Completed tasks are visually dimmed and show a checkmark icon.

Adding mock tests to your planner

Mock tests appear as special task cards with a purple “MockTest” subject badge and score fields. To add a mock test to your daily plan:
  1. Select the MockTest subject pill when creating a task
  2. Additional score input fields will appear below the subject selector
  3. Enter your scores for each section
  4. Add the test description (e.g., “JEE Main Full Length Test #5”)
  5. Submit the task
Mock test tasks are automatically tracked in the Analytics section.

Task completion tracking

Your planner automatically tracks:
  • Daily completion rate: Shows percentage of tasks completed each day
  • Subject distribution: Visual color-coding by subject
  • Streak maintenance: Completing tasks daily builds your study streak
Completed tasks remain visible on your calendar but appear with reduced opacity. This helps you track what you’ve accomplished without cluttering the view.

Calendar navigation shortcuts

On desktop, you can use keyboard shortcuts:
  • Left/Right arrows: Navigate between months
  • T: Jump to today
  • N: Quick-add a new task

Subject customization

Click + Manage next to the Subject selector to add custom subjects beyond the default Physics, Chemistry, and Maths/Biology. Custom subjects can be assigned unique colors from the color palette. Your daily planner syncs across all devices in real-time, so you can plan on desktop and track on mobile seamlessly.
